Ok so Balon drinks a lot of water throughout the day, problem is he is peeing everywhere too! We take him out a lot and he does pee outside, but then he will pee on the rug too. He is a little over three months, also he will pee on the towel in his crate at night. Should I not be allowing him to drink all day, I recently started removing the water bowl at 8pm, he is usually in his crate by 10:30 -11:00 until 4:30 am when I get up to get ready for work. When I let him out he practically jets to the water bowl. I thought my lab drank a lot. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Well, if he's only a little over three months, he can only be expected to hold it in for a little over three hours. Is he being let out at least every 3 hours?

I would suggest stopping his water intake around 8pm, so that's fine, but if he's going more often than every 3 hours, I would take him to the vet to get him checked for an infection.

Otherwise, he's just a puppy-- and like children-- puppies have small bladders and go to the bathroom often.

Ghost would drink to excess as a puppy, and still kind of does. If we let her when she was that age, she would drink enough that she would go pee up to every 15 minutes. I've heard of other Huskies doing the same thing, the big thing is just control the intake and be super vigilant with the potty training.

I gotta agree with Meredith on this one. At 3 months Cato peed literally every 15 minutes. But he is doing so much better now. at 5 months. I wouldn't be too worried yet, because they can't really control it. I had to take cato out after every meal, play time, nap - on top of the every coupdl of hours rule. He could make it through the night with a couple trips, but during the day when he is active, he would have to go all the time.

We're experiencing similar things at our house. Nicky drank so much yesterday and within 45 minutes managed to pee 6 times! You and I are really close in location and you know how incredibly hot & humid it's been. Yesterday we had 96% humidity and the dog's were drinking A LOT extra! The heat is the only thing I can think of that explains the increase water drinking.

Hayden even had an accident in the house yesterday, which hasn't happened in a long time. I believe it's from all the water intake.

My only suggestion would be is to crank up you're A/C and start giving them ice cubes.

I take Nicky & Hayden pretty much everywhere with me and the past few days they have been miserable in the car! Only way they hold still is when the A/C is cranked up and blowing directly on them.

We had to pull up the water about 7:30ish because our old lady GD can't hold it at night, and neither can Rio some times. I only put the water out about 4 times a day. In the morning, after the morning run, lunch time, and then after eating dinner. Other wise, it stays in the kitchen with the gate up so the cats have access but not the dogs. It has helped A LOT. We have had NO accidents at night!
