Thanks in advanced for anyone who answers! Smile

My concern is about the parents temperaments. How strongly is the parents attitude reflected in their pups? Im sure every pup is different and they could be nothing like their folks, but there has to be some correlation im assuming.

Well I know that my Balon's dad is a very calm husky. So is his Mom. Balon is a very laid back husky. So I have to think it does matter!

Markings can change considerably from puppy to adult. It's really hard to guess. Balon still has his the same strong "goggles" he has always had. But he is still only 5 months, so anything can happen lol.

Temperament is very much genetic and passed down from the parents to the pups (breeding dogs of two similar temperaments ensures the pups will have similar temperaments [barring something genetic doesn't affect the pup]. Breeding two dogs with polar opposite temperaments will ensure you can have anything in temperament ranging from moms to dads and anything in between). HOWEVER temperament is also further developed by how the dog is reared and then brought up after it is placed.

As for markings/coat - they change and vary as the dog grows older. It's one of those "up in the air - anything can happen" type things.

I believe the parents temperament do have a reflection on the pups. That's why good breeder's match the pair, because they believe they would make ideal puppies. Good breeder's should look for a sound temperament as well as other things.

That pup is really cute! It's hard to say exactly what the markings will be like as every dog changes differently. Some lose their mask, other's not so much, and in some cases look like a completely different dog! Even goes as far as changing colors. My guess would be that puppy will lose most of the darkness around the eyes and will be just an eyeliner and that little bit of darkness around the ears will grow back to just the edge and have a mostly white face and he/she does already.
