I know I posted this in his scrapbook, but I'm curious.
Does he look like a mix to anyone else? His ears make me think shepherd but I need a second opinion. There kind of batty. More batty than I would expect a husky to have lol And every stranger who meets hims thinks he's a white German shepherd anyways

I'd say he still looks husky to me. Shepherd paws tend to be larger and I've seen purebred huskies with huge ears.

He looks a lot like my Faolan who I know for sure is purebred. Faolan gets the white shepherd comment all the time, too.

He definitely looks pure to me. Yeah the ears look a little big but some are just like that or maybe he's still growing into them yet.

I'd still say pure husky. The ears are off, but that doesn't make him a mix. Like Val said, he could just still be growing into them. Or he could be a poorly bred husky, but that doesn't mean he's any less pure

I say pure also. Nicky has HUGE bat ear's too

He is VERY poorly bred. He's supposed to get up to 95 pounds >.>
That's another reason I think he's a mix. It doesn't really matter if he's a mix,
we still love him. :] But I would just think it's hilarious because all of our dogs
have been purebred and we've never paid for a dog before. They've always
been given to us or we've adopted them. I told mom I think he's mixed with
shepherd and she was SO mad because she "paid for a purebred" but in
reality she paid $200 for a backwoods puppy from a BYB with no socialization
or training. He's better now but the first month was the hardest.

Poorly bred doesn't mean mix. I've seen several purebred huskies that are poorly bred and reach up to 95 lbs. Anyone remember Nina & Shiloh from THF? GORGEOUS dogs, no doubt about their purebred nature, but just HUGE. That's what you get when you go to a BYB.

I know it doesn't matter-- but I don't think your dog is a mix at all. He's full husky, just a badly bred one.

Ditto. Nothing about Nunya says mix to me. Even well bred dogs can end up looking different from the standard too.

Heck, my third rescue is a poorly bred, albeit purebred chihuahua (we rescued her from a BYB and I have her papers to prove she's a purebred) yet both my hubby and I always call her a miniature border collie because that's what she really resembles. Her looks are far from that of a truly well bred Chihuahua despite her lineage AND the fact that BOTH her parents do look the way a Chihuahua should.

My Storm is a big husky....with big ears....he's purebred....

My mom has two Yorkshire Terrier's that are poorly bred and look nothing like Yorkies, but they are purebred. If it bother's you, you could always get the DNA test done. I got it from Petco a few year's ago and you get the test result's back in a few weeks. It's pretty easy. At the time it was like $60, I'm not sure if they raised or lowered the price of it now.

He looks purebred to me. Though I never know anyone, dogs that look part mal are full husky. Well I know Maggie is mal but would you like to see her when she had bat ears? She is pure mal.

She is 3-4 months here

I always wonder if Atka is mixed with something. He has huge ears too.
At the vet today there was another husky and he looked completely different from him. Atka has a long snout and huge ears and his tail isnt all that fluffy but it's really long.
I may do the DNA test later on when I have $70 laying around haha.

His snout is really different. Its long and flat it doesn't have the lift or scoop I am at a loss for words to describe a husky nose lol.

Are DNA tests reliable yet? I haven't heard much about them since this pit bull breeder on a
different forum talked about having her dogs done and they all came up as different. If I remember correctly, the test said one sibling was a Great Pyrenees and the other was a Greyhound. She was a heavy linebreeder too, so it should've been the same. She had some good dogs too, all schutzhund working stock.

Your dog looks just like my Leela ( she is all white as well) but I do not know how to post a pic of her on here!!

We get that all the time, people think she is a white German Shepard. But knowing I seen where she was bred and picked her out myself, I know she is purebred:)

A lot of people that don't know much about huskies, are clueless when it comes down to the all white ones. I always hear " ohh! I didn't know that huskies can be all white" after I tell them that she is not a Shepard.

Haha, I always wondered the same thing about Lycus! But mostly because he has fairly short fur, but I've seen other huskies with the same type of fur. I've also had people ask if he's a GSD mix lol, but none of it matters to me either! He's my baby lol!
