Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | My husband and I are taking a trip to our respective home states (VA for him, NH for me) And plan on taking the boys. We are spending a week in each place. They will be allowed inside with us in NH, but Shane's family that we are staying with in VA don't allow dogs in the house. We figure we will put them on tie outs with a tent and porch access for shelter. My question is, what kind of leads do y'all recommend? Length suggestions? Any tips? |

| I use a 30' steel plastic coated cable HEAVY DUTY, not one of those Dollar General tie outs they'll snap that in the blink of and eye if they see any prey.
What I've always done is go with double the weight listing capability. |

| I would avoid the stake kind and secure them directly to a tree or porch column. Stakes can be pulled out of even the hardest soil. I would also recommend secure harnesses while on the tieouts. |

They will turn into country dogs for the week down there! ...sleeping in a tent outside... Are they used to sleeping outside? Sabaka would be barking and howling his head off! I would help you out if I lived closer. Be careful of the tie-out cables that swivel right above the clasp. If it is a new cable, it should be fine. We had an older one rust a little bit there and compromise its integrity. If you are buying new, just examine that area to see if one looks more sturdy that the others. Have a great trip! |

| Yes they sleep outside in the yard about. 50% of the time depending on weather and temperature. I just want to get something they can't get free of. I'm so worried they will get free, go exploring, and be lost and not able to find their way back. |
