PostSubject: Doggy puzzles   Doggy puzzles EmptySat Sep 15, 2012 9:46 am

So Ripley is 13 weeks old now. She's been a very good girl so far and I have no problems with her whatsoever save for 1. I just cannot seem to drain her energy.

I figured it was time to mentally challenge my dog and exhaust her that way. She has a kong which she enjoys a lot but it's not enough. So today I got her one of those dog puzzles by flamingo:

She figured it out in just under a minute. Our other dog (a pug) still can't seem to figure it out.

are all huskies this smart? -_-Doggy puzzles 512101

Mine are, it is amazing that i will give them bones or treats wheni leave for work. I will get home and they are gone, so I assumed they ate them. Well days later all of a sudden they will go behind something or under something and here they come with the treat. Its like i didnt want it then, but i do now. They have hid them under blankets and make it look like the blanket was never touched. That just blows my mind sometimes.
I have taken them out of town with me and it could be 4 days later and they remember exactly where they put it. Maybe mine are just part squirrel.
As huskies they love to me mentally challenged. I had great luck with the busy buddy bottles. They have to figure out how to get the treats out and they cant just pull the cord.
Good Luck and make it fun for yourself as well.

That video is -so- cute. What a smart puppy.

I'd love to get one of those for Aevyn. Where'd you get it?

I agree she's the cutest!
Well, i got it at a local shop that specialises in dogs. It's called "Maya treasure hunt" and is made by flamingo. they have a couple of other puzzles as well. The problem is... and i'm not sure about this... but i think it's a belgian-based dog-toy company. So i'm not really sure where you could get one online xD...

I'll try to check with the store. the owner is a friend of mine anyway.

edit: either way, flamingo is most certainly not the only one manufacturing these doggy puzzles. For instance, found one pretty similar on amazon.comhttp://www.amazon.com/Nina-Ottosson-Wooden-Dog-Smart/dp/B000U39044

This one is harder because the cups are a little harder to get out.

That is Ginger in the video Smile She can't get the cups out by herself. We have another one that does not turn and even that one she can barely get the cups off.

I think I should sell those games off - we don't even use it anymore. LOL!

Razz well.....

Here's the ones I have:

http://www.dogsupplies.com/products/Kyjen-Paw-Hide-Food-Puzzle-Dog-Toy.html

http://www.dogsupplies.com/products/Kyjen-Treat-Wheel-Food-Puzzle-Dog-Toy.html

And they are cheap now (in case you want to get them new).

Or if you want both of mine (which are in excellent shape), just let me know.

well... prices aren't too high for the puzzles when they're new so it shouldn't pose a problem ^^

most of my current monetary investments towards her are going to decent food though... she had this awful diarrhea ever since i got her...poor thing. Been trying all sorts of food BUT rejoice! Put her on hills a couple of days ago and have been cleaning up solid poop ever since!

Sure, it's one of the more expensive brands but i'm happy as long as i can pick up her poop without making a huge mess Very Happy (it was so liquid that i couldn't pick it up at all, i just ended up spreading it with the doggie bag -_- imagine the look on people's faces -_- )

EDIT: ...and we're back to square one. diarrhea again. time to go visit the vet.
