Pimple like growth Empty
PostSubject: Pimple like growth   Pimple like growth EmptyWed Oct 10, 2012 3:00 pm

I was petting Bode the other day and noticed a pimple like growth kind of in his front armpit area. It's oval shaped, slightly red and hair is still growing through it. It didn't seem to bother him when I touched it. Is it anything to worry about? I am probably going to be taking him to the vet sometime within the next few weeks to get going on his neuter, so I will probably point it out to her then. Any ideas? It's tough to get a pic of because he has so much fur and getting him to sit still while making the growth visible through fur is a chore...

It looks like it has gotten bigger and more irritated since I looked at it a day or two ago. He doesn't go in for his neuter until Nov. 8. Should I make an appt. to get it checked out or wait and see if it goes away?

Is that something that goes away on its own or needs to be treated?

Edit: so from the quick google search, it says that hot spots usually get bad quick, like within hours. It's been four or five days since I noticed it. He also doesn't seem to be paying attention to it, although when I touch it now he acts like it itches. I decided to give him a Benadryl to see if that helps at all if its some kind of reaction to a bite or something. If it doesn't, I'll probably try to get him in at the vet tomorrow.

Looks like a mole to me - or a bite. no need to worry if he isn't in discomfort.
