So last night I got home after dinner and found Mia's coller chewed up and lying on the floor of her crate. I have no idea how she was able to get her mouth over it, but it is like the 4th collar she has chewed up. and this one lasted about 2 months. Any ideas? or do I just keep on buying collars in hopes that she will outgrow biting off her collars?

any before anyone asks, it is fitted to 2 fingers, so it's not over loose....but obviously it IS because she can contort her neck to biting the collar.....

Lupine guarantees their collars and leashes even if chewed. If you send in your lupine collar they will send you a replacement for free. So if collar chewing is a habit, I'd go that route.

Yea lupine is a tad more reasonable when it comes to price. Kale chews his collars too. I had to get him a new one every 3-4 months. Lol

when the chewing stops they are SO worth the money as far at the clasp, separate leash hook and material goes! we had ours over 3yrs and still looked new, only got new ones for the upgraded clasp they brought out, LOVE them.

Once she grows out of chewing, you'll be able to get a more permanent collar. For now, I'd probably just go with cheap ones. As soon as Ava stopped growing, she got her "big girl" collar/leash/harness set from a shop on Etsy. Then I got kinda addicted to buying collars and now she's got probably a dozen different matching collar/leash sets Embarassed I have a little clip with her tags on it that I rotate with her collars, so it works out pretty well.

actually, took the collar back to Petco, and they did an even exchange for another one. Damn it!! I could have basically done that for all the other collars she bit through. haha.

ljelgin: if you can get some pictures of the collars and leashes, I might be interested. I actually had an idea for some leashes, but if you make them...well, shoot! I might just buy a set from you!

Lupine and Ruffwear is the best IMO.

I got Juneau the Wild Thing collar from Lupine a few months ago, it's so cute! It's a snow leopard print one.

I have a ruffwear Knot-A-Collar too. Somehow the metal clasp that held it together was shearing the collar! I sent it back and they sent me a free replacement. I'm not sure if she chewed it (it was a perfect line and in the right spot for the metal piece) but I'm pretty sure it was the metal piece. For now she wears the Lupine just in case lol.

Jackie, mine wear their knot a collar 24/7 and they still look brand new. We do not walk on that collar, though. I have it to wear it hangs and it's just for their tags in case they somehow get out.

I love Ruffwear. The top rope is the best collar you can get for security (though I like my knot a collar's look more, it's just slightly less useful since you can't adjust it as tight as the top rope) and they hold up forever. Lupine is awesome if you have a chewer though.ni have martingales from them.

I'd recommend an Alaskan collar from Nordkyn.
Not high on the cuteness factor, but sized correctly, they won't come off.
