    Val,

Thanks for meeting up with us there! We really enjoyed the experience - we probably would have been more talkative but being this was Evo's first big boy experience at a dog park, we were probably too worried about how he would behave! We loved meeting your gorgeous boy and hope that he and Evo have more opportunities to play!

Likewise, we really enjoyed your company. Don't worry, we've been there many times and you do end up having to constantly be watching your dog(s) regardless of how much experience they have there. Case in point when Dakota was digging in (and drinking) the muddy water and didn't listen to me when I called him...typical sibe. lol He really does listen amazingly well at home. Laughing And when I had to interrupt you guys (sorry!) to go pick up Dakota's "mess". I've learned if I don't go to him when he's in mid-poo it's darn near impossible to find. Sorry, probably TMI! lol

Hey Jess, just thought I'd give you a heads up that there is another husky meet up at the West Orange dog park (same as last time) this coming Sunday, Aug 9th at 11 am. I don't think I'll be there this time but just thought I'd let you know in case you're interested in attending with Evo. Smile

I live in Florida! Clermont to be exact. We take our pups to the dog park in Winter Garden all the time! We've met up with quite a bit of huskies there as well! About six or seven of them! A couple of malamutes as well!

I drive past Winder Garden on my way to work (long drive all the way to Holopaw Rolling Eyes ). What park do you go to and what is it like? I could make one of the snowdog meet-ups there if you'd like. I've been keeping an eye out for more parks to meet at.

    West Orange Dog Park
    12400 Marshall Farms Rd
    Winter Garden, FL, US 34787
Hours: Sunrise to sunset (7 days a week)
    Cost: Free
This is a pleasant dog park with plenty of shade and fresh water (water fountain) for both dogs and humans (although personally I wouldn't drink it). There are balls to chase, plenty of mulch to dig in and time out pens ... just in case! There are two separate areas; one for smaller dogs and a bigger one for large dogs. Both have shaded seating areas for humans, some 'play equipment' to entertain dogs and a concrete path for walking on (handy if you need to bring a stroller or are in a wheelchair). Sometimes there is a paddling pool so your canine friend can cool off. There is a hose in the smaller park and both parks have plenty of plastic baggies to encourage people to pick up after their pet.

It's right off of 50. You turn as if you were going to West Orange High School. Right before you get to the on ramp to the 408 I think it is?

I love the West Orange dog park in Winter Garden. The monthy husky meet ups used to be there until they changed the meet up location earlier this year. Really easy to get to from 50, follow the signs for the High School and the dog park is right next to it.

I made a meet-up at the west orange dog park. It's Saturday, October 23 from 10:30 to 11:30. I probably won't be able to make it, but hopefully others will go.

You want to start socializing her as soon as possible but make sure you finish her puppy shot series before taking her out so she doesn't get sick.

We live just down the road in Milton. As brand new Husky owners, we are definitely experiencing one hell of a learning curve, and would love to meet up sometime and let the pups play. How old is yours now? Ours will be 12 weeks on Monday. Glad to find another person in NW Florida!

We actually got her from a breeder all the way in Palatka. I did a lot of my research while I was still living in Oklahoma, and the timing actually worked out really well for a litter that was ready to go right after we moved here to Florida. It was a hike to get her, but worth it. Weekends are typically pretty open for us, so we ought to see if there is a dog park between Milton and Crestview. I'd love to get her together with another husky, because our cocker spaniel doesn't want anything to do with her and she needs some playmates. Glad I saw this thread!
