So I told myself I wouldn't get another husky until I got Loki to where I want him with his training. He is doing great and I think a few more months and he will be perfect. I started looking around at kennels listed on SHCA and found Talini Kennels. I emailed them inquiring of when they planned to breed this year or next year. They are planning a litter that will be ready for new homes in August/September. I plan on emailed back and asking about OFA testing etc. But still would like to know if anyone has gooten a pup from them.

I'm not familiar with them, since I'm still husky newbie myself. It looks like they are still fairly new to the breed (first Sibe in 2005). As breeders, they probably don't have much of a reputation yet one way or the other. However, it looks like they started off with decent stock. Most of their dogs are from Huskavarna, which I hear is pretty well regarded. As members of the SHCA and having dogs from top lines, I would be almost willing to bet that they do hips and eyes. To many show people, that is so routine that many don't all see a need to advertise it. Of course it's a good idea to ask. Or if you know which dogs they plan to breed, you can look it up yourself. For example, I just looked up one of their dogs and he is OFA excellent and eyes clear. http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1304079#animal . They won't have had all the generation after generation of experience with their own lines, but that's not as big of a deal if the pup is going to a pet home (versus a show home).

No personal experience with the breeder, but as stated their foundation dogs are quality stock. The main thing that caught my attention is they are ACTIVE with their dogs! That is always a big plus in my mind, vs that BYB that does nothing but breed their dogs. I would still contact them for health clearances and which dogs they plan to breed, but I'd be surprised if they don't do all the health clearances. Honestly I feel this breeder would be a good choice to consider and seem to be very much on the right track Smile

I did email them back this morning asking which dogs they planned to breed together and why. ALso asked about health testing/clearances. I think they would be a good place to get another furbaby. I just wanted some opinions on it since the first furbaby (not that I would trade him for anything in the world at the point) I got was from a BYB and I thought was a reputable breeder (before I joined the forum and really learned the difference).
