2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. PostSubject: Advises please for bike jogging   Advises please for bike jogging EmptyWed Feb 20, 2013 3:49 pm

Hello to all huksies lovers,

I am new to bike jogging with my two male huskies. So please advises =)
I got the walkydog so, it should be a good start =)

Doggies' profile:
Grizzly, 5yr, 22kg, trends to trot rather than pull the bike, a bit relax
Charcoal, 2yr, 20 kg, trends to pull the bike very hard at quite a fast speed, very hard working

1: Can both of them do the bike jogging together?
2: Should the dog do all the exercise ( means pulling the weight of the bike and the rider?) or rider should share the exercise?
3: I am not too sure should I offer them booties to protect foot, if so, would you recommend some?
4: What kind of harness or collar should I offer them?

Thank you in advance

1. In theory, yes. I don't have a Walky Dog though, so I can't comment on that setup. I use a Springer attachment which can be used for 2 dogs.

2. That's up to you. Ideally you want your dog to work, which means you probably want them to pull the bike and rider.

3. Some use foot protection (i.e. booties) and others don't. I don't put booties on mine, I just use Mushers Secret as needed.

4. A pulling harness would be ideal. I would never bike with a dog on a collar, especially if said dog will be doing any pulling. My sibe wears a Ruffwear harness when we go bikejoring (specifically it's the one that comes with the Ruffwear Omnijore set, similar in function to an X back harness which I also have).

Thank you for your reply, Valerie.
Worried wrong set-up would cause injury to my doggies. =)
Thanks for your advise.
