Hello everyone. So we just welcomed a new sib into our family her name is Mishka and she's a 10 week old sib. Anyway I'm kind of wondering if this is normal? she keeps panting randomly, even when she's just laying down and even after she just drank water. We keep it pretty cold and my 16 month old husky doesn't ever pant from it being too hot. I read/hear that it could be from stress of them leaving their moms, we just got her 3 days ago. Anyway here are some pictures! Smile

She's adorable! Our guy pants randomly and excessively at times. I think he was worse when he was young. We never figured it out....

Our 9 week old pup pants a lot too. I was going to ask the vet at our next appt on Friday. We just lost a Labrador unexpectedly to cancer and I am finding myself worrying over everything with the new pup.

My 10 week old pup pants a bit, but did more so when we got him cause he had Roundworms which were making his tummy and intestines upset. Once we took care of that, panting reduced by maybe 90%. Just a possibility to check on.

My dogs always pant a lot/panted a lot as puppies! Glad it's not just me noticing it! I always attributed it to that thick puppy coat and not really being old enough to regulate temperature as well as adults do? Not sure. It was always worse at night so I always fretted and gave them ice cubes and kept a fan on in the room. No matter what they always panted though! It seems to taper off as they get older in my experience. Sucks when you're trying to sleep though haha.

ETA: BTW your pups are adorable! <3

Vixen was a fast, heavy panter when she was a little pup, and I was worried too! But she turned out to be just fine. Smile

Luna also pants pretty frequently, and sometimes randomly. Usually it's after playing or eating, but sometimes she'll just be laying there and she'll start panting! I guess being a puppy is hard work!
