Hello everyone! Question about my dogfood (dry) Empty
PostSubject: Hello everyone! Question about my dogfood (dry)   Hello everyone! Question about my dogfood (dry) EmptyMon Apr 08, 2013 4:21 pm

This is my first post, so let me take the time to say hello to everyone and thank you for having me on this forum.

I am the owner of a sweet and wonderful 4 month old husky pup named Juno. This is my first puppy but we are doing great! There have been many growing pains, but she is a wonderful dog so far...and I look forward to many, many years with her by my side and one day, my wife and kids side as well.

So, here's the story. I got her when she was two months old. The breeders had her on Nutri source. I got her and did all my research on food and I started to switch her over to blue buffalo. She had a urinary track infection and she pee'd constantly. I took her to the vet and she was treated. I was also told that she was drinking too much water. They told me to only let her drink an ounce of water per pound that she weighs. I started reading more about blue buffalo and saw these nightmare stories. (who knows if they are true) BUT, I just didn't want to chance it. So I got her on nutro ultra. That made her smell really strange and so I finally found a store that sold nutri source and I put her back on it.

Well, her poops seem really hard for her to get out. It seems like she strains a little more than she should. She also wakes up at 1:30 to 2 every night to poop which seems strange to me.

I have been thinking about starting her on Orijen. Do you think that this will be an ok food? I don't want to overload her with protien, but it seems it is a great food. I just want her to be healthy and I want her to finally sleep through the night without having to pee or poop.

She is 4 months and 22 lbs. How big do you think she will get?

thanks for any advice.

PS...how do I post a picture of my pup? Thanks.

Hi Stuart,

I had the same problems for a couple weeks with my little buddy (5 Months now), he was having issues with his old food (Innova) so i added a little bit of yogurt to his food and slowly switched him to Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy and and little bit of water.
Now he doesnt seem to have any issues, but does go poop 2 or 3 times a day depending on the amount of peanut butter i put in his kong toy.

According to Wiki she should get to about 35-50, but im not sure if thats right cause Yuri is at 55 LBS and it says his average max is 60.

She is a gorgeous pup. Smile

I have had my Balon on BB Wilderness for over a year and it has been great for him, Nutro Ultra was terrible for him, however my new puppy Loki is doing very well on Nutro Ultra (both are from the same breeder, same parents its what the breeder uses).

Our breeder was using some cheap puppy kibble Razz
Got off that trash quick.

The wilderness Treats are awesome too.

I got on dogfoodadvisor.com and looked at all the comments under BB and it just totally scared me away from BB. I have no idea if any of that stuff is related or not, but it just scared me away.

I am now on Orijen. I will see if Juno likes that ok.

Food is a tough thing because you have to introduce something new so slow and you are never quite sure how they will react to it.
