I am so excited! I went to the pet store today to fill up on Eagle Pack for the huskies. While I was there, I was looking at the harnesses they have there. You know, the ones that help keep from tugging. We had tried the Gentle Leader on both Isis & Nanuk with no success. I finally said to hell with it and bought two, one for Nanuk & one for Isis. (Mika walks well on a regular collar.)
It was one of the best purchases for them I have bought to date! It is a harness with the ring in the front, on the chest. If they tug, it turns their shoulder and they just kind of stop and look at you.
Anyway, after walking each one on their own this afternoon, Tommy said "Let's try them all together at once." IT WORKED! For the first time ever, we were able to walk them together with minimal fuss. We had a hard time before when it was just Nanuk & Isis, and the one time we attempted all of them together, we gave up and turned around. But it was so easy tonight! Isis is usually the worst tugger, but after the first few steps, she realized she had to deal with it, and she did. They loved it! I walked Mika & Isis and Tommy had the Nookster. Isis & Mika actually walked shoulder to shoulder!
Anyway, if anyone else has a hard time with their husky and their natural desire to pull, I would suggest this harness. It's made by Premier, comes in lots of sizes and is really easy to fit & put on. Isis actually stands calmly to let you put it on her. That never happened before!
Yay for the happy huskies! Looking forward to walks in the local county park. Now we need to find one of them a pack, so we can pack plenty of water for all three...any ideas?
