| Anybody had any luck with huskies and pet gates? I wanted to get one that would allow myself and the cat to pass though while blocking storm but the one I bought for the living room didn't work so well.

I need to get another gate for the cat's closet(I keep his litter box, scratch pads, food, and water in a large closet so the cat can relax away from the dog) and I would prefer to for the cat to be able to pass freely, anybody have an suggestions or experience? |

| LOL @ that video! I have the same gate, but had to zip tie the fat cat gate closed. It might be hard to find one that tall with a normal sized cat gate. |

| I don't use the cat gate for that reason, lol. My cats just go through the bars. Well the ladies do and sunny tried to but got stuck. |

| Can your cat fit through the bars or jump over the gate? Wow, her hair makes her look to big to fit through there, but I guess not lol |

| Awesome, hah. Could you get a regular gate, and put one of those cat climbing things that has rug kinda material they have at the store? ...I don't speak cat, I'm sure there's a name for those lol. I know my uncle built a bookshelf thing on the wall and the cats climb all over their little obstacle thing.. And then he can just jump off to the other side for safety? |

| I have a suggestion since I've seen my cat do this, if the gate is high enough off the floor the cat should be able to squeeze underneath it. Mind you it might not work if the dog is persistent in pushing the bottom of the gate out. I've had that happen too. It depends on the cat. I have 2, Sadie will jump right over anything you put in her way, and Gypsy.....well....She's too fat, and has a harder time leaping over stuff. Lol. |

| We use two types of baby gates to block off different rooms. We rent a house that has no doors except for the bath room. We use them wooden baby gates to block off the bedrooms and storage area and a metal swing gate to block the kitchen. Baby gates are cheaper than dog gates, but easier to get over so you just have to watch and train your dogs not to jump them.
The wooden gates are easily jumped because they are short, but at the same time they are easy for us and our son to step over and they are cheap so it is easy to have quite a few of them. Cats can jump these. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Evenflo-Position-and-Lock-Wood-Safety-Gate-Blue/20441353
We use a metal swing gate to block the kitchen; it’s taller than the wooden gate and has a latch at the top so you can unlock it making it easier to pass through when you are carrying food in your hands. Cats can fit between the bars. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Evenflo-Secure-Step-Metal-Top-of-Stairs-Gate/13374400 |

| Masa(the cat) is old, lumpy n' grumpy and doesn't jump much anymore so I will try a baby gate lifted a little bit off the ground, it only has to hold storm back when I am in the house(he stays in his cage during the day, and the cat's closet is closed at night) so I can monitor him(he is pretty good with the tall gate between the kitchen and the living room except when the door at the bottom is open.) |

Sounds like my fat cat lol. She's gotten even fatter since we got Lucian. She doesn't run around the house with Sadie anymore cause of Lucian, she hates him. It was hilarious when we first brought him home at 8 weeks old. She stopped in the middle of the floor like a statue. Looked at him like what the hell, and ran away. |
