1/52 Karli's first night with us. We drove 7hrs to Idaho to pick her up and she slept on and off on the way home. We put her in the kennel for the first time and she wasn't too happy about that, didn't sleep much that night so she spent the whole next day napping. Now she's comfortable in her kennel, to the point that if I'm missing a sock, that's most likely where its at! lol Razz She was 8 weeks old in this pic!

YES!!! Very Happy I actually got smart, I had to run back out to grab something and realized my coffee was in the front seat so I put it on the roof of my car til I was done. A white chocolate mocha would NOT have been good for her!

4/52 Karli is 11 weeks old today. She had her first vet appt with my vet (third all together.) She got one shot (canine distemper) and they gave her a dose of Revolution (which I think we will continue to use.) She weighed in at 13.1lbs which means we've up her food a bit. She did very good during her shot, didn't even notice that they were giving it to her to be honest. And now pictures!!!
52 weeks of Karli IMAG0305
She got lots of scratches, everyone wanted to meet Karli. They all commented on how calm she was for a husky.
52 weeks of Karli IMAG0306
She had to smell everything! This included everyone's feet lol
52 weeks of Karli IMAG0309
And us afterwards. She didn't want to stay in the back seat, felt she should be up front with me, the spoiled brat!! I love you

They mentioned how big her paws are, but compared to other breeds of dogs, she has tiny paws. So is she gonna be a big husky or a medium one. My hubby got kind of worried about that, but her mama wasn't huge. Question

So glad I'm not the only one. Kodi walks to the mailbox with me every day and has to have something in there for him. He carries it proudly back inside and then rips it to shreds. Wonder how well "dog ate my bill" will go over. Very Happy

OK then I'm not so worried. I had expected her to get about 50lbs, if that, but then again, the weight scale they were showing me put "large" dogs at 40-85lbs. Razz

5/52 Karli is three months old this week (the 16th) and is getting so big. Her potty training is definitely at almost 100% except for an accident now and then, but those are usually my fault. Digging is her new favorite past time and since it rains here often, she got dirty today so I just sprayed her off with the hose. Didn't seem to bother her one bit! Now the pictures!!!

I know doesn't she? She's all like "what did I do Ma? Do you wanna dig with me?" When we have our own place and not at base housing, I want to get her a sand box so she can dig all she wants. I am gonng invest in a kiddie pool for her this summer!

6/52 This week I took Karli on her first walk. The only other dog there was my friend's GSD, so Karli made a new friend. It was only a mile and there was lots of stops for pottying and petting lol. Needless to say we did not finish very quickly. Karli really liked her new friend too!

7/52 Thanksgiving was fun...Karli sat in the kitchen the whole time I was cooking. It was extremely funny just have her watching me like a hawk. I stuck my apron on her since she was my helper.

We also switched her to BB this week and she likes it a lot better. Glad we made the switch!

8/52 Karli had another vet appt today. This one was to get her distemper shot. She goes back for the booster in three weeks. At that time she can also get her rabies shot (YAY!!!) She now weighs 18lbs (the nurse said last time that she would be over 20lbs by now but she's not and I'm certainly not starving her lol). We did have a mishap at the vet, the first time she attempted to give Karli her shot, I don't think she got it in at all and it sprayed all over her fur. So she went and got another needle to try again (just to make sure we got some in her) and Karli felt the shot this time, poor baby. Also, she does not like to get her nails clipped, AT ALL. What will I do when my hubby deploys???? pale Anywho, now for the pictures!!!

Wrestling with her pull rope, she is so serious about this
52 weeks of Karli IMG_0874
A break for water, she drinks more water than me and my hubby combined!!!
52 weeks of Karli IMG_0875
And now its break time, Karli takes a nap lol.
