So two days ago Honey threw up in the morning, it was more of a spit up (foamy white, with a little yellow liquid) and I just figured she might have eaten something that had upset her stomach because she acted fine the rest of the day. Then yesterday she was acting really lethargic for the first half of the day, to the point of where I could tell she wasn't feeling to well but halfway through the day she started acting like her normal self again. Today she has been a little more lethargic than normal but not quite as bad as yesterday, I have also noticed that she has a runny nose, and her neck is a little more sensitive with her leash on (she sounds like shes choking with the slightest amount of tension). When I took her out to go potty her poop was bright yellow, I'm not sure if this is something to be concerned about or if I'm just being a little paranoid. The only vet open today is the emergency clinic and I don't really feel that it is an emergency, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Yellow poop generally indicates some sort of infection. If she is refusing food or water I'd take her in today (we just got home from the evet with Shadow...), if not you can probably wait until tomorrow. Hope she feels better!

she hasn't had anything to eat today but she was eating fine last night. She hasn't been drinking quite as much water either but she has still been drinking.

What diet is she on? Does she chew on raw marrow bones? Because the marrow will make the poop turn yellow/golden when it comes out, and it turns white over time as it dries. Marrow poop is also very hard, almost flaky, but like solid stones or pebbles, and never runny or mushy.

I took her to the vet and she thinks that she has intestinal blockage but I can't afford to pay for the emergency surgery price so she suggested that I take her to the normal vet tomorrow and get x rays there and then decide which way to go. I'm kind of freaking out because the vet said that there is a possibility of it rupturing (if it does end up being blockage). She's only a year old and she's already almost completely blind from juvenile cataracts and now this happens No I'm just hoping she can hold out till tomorrow when I can take her to the normal vet.

Oh no! I really hope it isn't a blockage and that she's okay! Good luck at the vet tomorrow and I'll say a prayer she makes it through tonight okay!

Can you apply for care credit? Even if you go to the normal vet it will be pricey and care credit could help.

Poor baby Sad If the x-rays do show a blockage, what will you do? Vets usually are able to work out payment plans in emergency situations.

I had already started saving money for cataract surgery but if it is blockage I'm gonna use that money on surgery for that. I just want her to be ok... this sucks

I've been there. Kale had an obstruction last November. Personally, I wouldn't wait. The Doctor's and I (they are my bosses) tried to figure out what was wrong with him for 2 days and finally, Dr Larsson, Kale's primary vet, decided to do an exploratory surgery. He said that if we had waited another 4-6 hours, he would most likely have died. I applied for Care Credit and was accepted, but I actually put down more than half right then and there. You do what you have to do for your kids. Emergencies happen; you always have to be prepared and deal with it as it comes.

Hope all goes well with your pup and the wait isn't too long. Sad

I honestly don't think that she has an obstruction because she has passed another stool since we left the vet (not diarrhea). She isn't acting sick anymore, but her poop is still yellow. I did give her a new kind of bone yesterday and I'm thinking that may account for the yellow poop? I was rubbing her tummy though and I can feel a slight bumb, although I'm not sure what I'm looking for and I may be imagining it since the vet told me she felt a bump. I'm still going to take her into the vet to get her x-rayed tomorrow and if I see any sudden changes I'll take her back to the emergency vet.

another update: shes has started eating and drinking more normally now. She is also much more active and playful. She has been begging to go outside to play with the other dogs. Although I am feeling much better about her now, I'm still going to take her in tomorrow morning just to be safe.

Any idea what it was that made her so sick? Maybe a bad reaction to that bone?

I think all the bone did was turn her poop yellow because she was sick before I gave it too her. She may have just eaten some stuffing from the inside of a toy and that made her spit up a little. I may have been a little more worried than I should of been because I'm over protective of her. Also I think the emergency vet may have just said that she felt something in her stomach to try to get me to pay for x-rays but maybe I'm just being cynical. When I took her to the normal vet she said that she felt nothing in her stomach and that she couldn't have a blockage since she was still having normal bowel movements
