Hello!
My name's Derek. I was perusing your forums for various husky related nonsense to kill some time and decided to sign up.
I've got 1 full blooded male named Ivan. He's probably 40 to 45 pounds. He's not a big male but I love him, he's the stereotypical energetic husky. He's very well behaved and relatively quiet. I lucked out on that one. He loves anything that squeaks makes an odd guard dog. He's very intimidating to strangers but all they have to do is be near him 30 seconds and he's trying to crawl in their lap. Here's some pictures of him!
I also had a little girl named Lulu, she's half Husky half Shar-Pei and picked up the attitude of both. She was a gift I got my ex girlfriend so when we split I couldn't take her, that and Lulu was attached. Here's a picture of her as a pup with my 18 year old cat.
Lulu however was VERY VERY difficult in the beginning. She had separation anxiety, didn't want the kennel no matter how much positive reinforcement we gave, was an escape artist of the worst type, destroyed a kennel in one such attempt that was meant to keep much bigger dogs in, ate phone chargers, etc. She got alot better with some training and once I showed my ex the power of establishing your role as pack leader. She a total sweetheart now.
Look forward to probably learning a bit and talking to you!
