looking for a good metal WALL mounted gate Empty
PostSubject: looking for a good metal WALL mounted gate   looking for a good metal WALL mounted gate EmptySat Feb 15, 2014 11:44 pm

Seems like everything I find is pressure mounted, anyone have any recommendations?

We had a nice wood mounted one but my head strong dog ate right through it. We replaced it with a pressure mounted one and he rips that sucker right off when we are not home. It goes between the kitchen and the living room, so when the kids are going in and out he is safe from escape. Now with out the gate It seems like my 12 year old is totally incapable of coming in the house or leaving the house with out letting him out. I can not seem to get it through her head that standing with the door open chit chatting is not a good idea. The past few days I have had to go get him 5 times... 3 times today and twice yesterday. He stays on the block...which is a good thing...everyone knows him. He runs full speed up and down...No chance I will actually catch him so I stand at the corner to watch for cars while he runs...He slows down enough after a few laps for me to catch him. Sorry, I guess I am venting more here then anything else.

Long story short..I need a good wall mounted metal gate so this doesn't happen one day when I am not home to get him.

I have a Munchkin extra tall. It can pressure mount or wall mount. Try at she might, Luci has not been able to break/push/eat through it. http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Easy-Close-Extra-Tall-Metal/dp/B004CLBX2M/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1392558118&sr=8-10&keywords=munchkin+baby+gate

Just curious, do you really think a wall mounted gate would be better? If he's really that determined to get through it, he might still be able to rip it right off the walls. Then not only do you have a busted gate, you've got busted walls as well!

He was never able to rip the old one we had out of the wall, but it was old and very firmly attached with nice big brackets. I will have to see how newer ones look, if they are flimsy looking he probably could take it off the wall. Good point. He is so such a strong dog, it can be hard to stop him if he has his mind made up to do something LOL

Samantha..I went to target and picked up that gate. It seems really sturdy, my husband is going to make some heavy duty cups to replace the plastic ones that come with it...but I think it is a solid gate. We will see Tuesday when the brut is home alone how it holds up.

I was going to suggest hanging it from a piece of angle bolted to a stud. Then I realized this was INSIDE the house...  cyclops
