So we're thinking about adding a second husky puppy to our family. Kylah would be almost a year by the time we brought it home.
Id like any feedback you can give on whether this is a good idea or not.
Also, how do you go about crating and such? Kylah currently uses her crate to sleep at night and while were at work. Would we need a separate crate for the puppy and should the crate be in a place separate from kylahs crate?
What about potty training? Do you take them out together or separately?
Like I said, any input you can give would be great. I want add a second husky to our home, but most importantly, I want it to be the right thing for kylah. Im afraid she will feel like she's being ignored or less important if we bring in a puppy.

You will want a separate crate for the new puppy and I would place it next to, or at least in the same room as Kylah's. For potty training, I would take them out separately. The puppy will have to go out way more often than Kylah, and you'll want to be able to properly reward the pup when he/she goes outside and Kylah will think that if the pup gets a treat, she should too. In terms of her feeling ignored, just make sure to give her lots of individual attention. I would dedicate some time every day where you walk her and train with her, so she doesn't feel left out. Also, I would suggest finding a reputable breeder if you know you want a puppy for sure. A reputable breeder not only health tests and certifies the parents, but will also help you pick a puppy based on your lifestyle and Kylah's personality. Smile
