The reasoning that they give is sooo stupid. Specially for them to be all the way at number 6

I don't even see how their reason makes them a part of a dangerous list! Same with the malamute. Wtf.

The reasoning in the very first paragraph for why "dangerous" dog lists exist in the first place is so bogus to me: "Nevertheless, it can’t be helped that some dog breeds have more potential to cause serious harm to a person if the dog were to decide to attack. Therefore, our 25 most dangerous dog breeds focuses on the potential of a dog to cause serious injury to a victim." Uh, so doesn't that mean that every medium to large dog should be considered potentially "dangerous" just based on the thinking that the bigger the dog, the more potential for harm? Also, this fails to take into account the myriad situations (often at the fault of humans) that cause attacks and bites. You can't "train" a dog to be dangerous. You can raise it in an environment where it is poorly socialized and therefore more apt to react in fear, but I'm sorry, those who believe that pit bulls and other bully breeds are "bred" with a "fighting instinct" have been grossly misinformed.

Ooh, I'm reading the comments section now. Good to see others are equally as upset about the article as I am, haha.

Dangerous?!!? Yeah right. Here is my dangerous dog at the car show with complete strangers who asked to pet him:

Whatever, my Cocker Spaniel is FAR more dangerous and unpredictable than either of my Huskies.

More people get bit by little dogs than big dogs and I've met far more foul tempered small dogs than big dogs. If they are going by size and number of teeth there are a ton more dogs that "deserve" to be on that list much more than huskies. I think the only dog on that list I do kinda agree with is the wolf hybrid. Hybrids with larger percentages of wolf are very unpredictable, but even then with the proper handling they can be managed. Not that the proper people usually wind up with them.

I agree with you all 100%. The reasons they try so hardly to justify is outright nonsensical. My girlfriend and I are currently college students and housing has remained a large issue. Each potential location continually refused us on the basis of their breed restrictions. Each location utilized this 'Dangerous Breed List" to exclude what they considered the worst of the worst. To my surprise, Huskies were included, alongside the likes of Pit Bulls and Rottweilers. This restriction has limited us to two potential residencies, unfortunately. Their premise would not be as bothersome if they could actually provide statistical data proving attack rates or something similar. Until then, I will remain disappointed in their unjust reasoning.

yeah i thought it was pretty odd they didn't use actual dog attack data. That and the list of dangerous dogs should be only about how dangerous they are to people....not if they are dangerous to small animals...lol.

What is also the weirdest thing ever is that wolf hybrids are at 9th while huskies are 6th....that is very backwards to me. How can something that is actually part WILD be safer than a complete tame dog? That alone is clear proof whoever made this list doesn't know much about dogs. I'm just glad most people have enough sense to not fear malamutes and huskies since they are very loving towards people and don't even make good watchdogs. The only thing I would consider dangerous about them is their tendency to play with their mouths and chase and kill small creatures namely cats, but the cat population is exploding any way ...so we should thank them for that ...right? lol.

If by 'victim' they mean furniture, socks, shoes, toys, anything on the kitchen counter, I can see that. Dangerous to people 'victims'?... nope. (unless they're counting puppy teeth lol)
This is the most illogical list ever.

Meg gets barked and snapped at by my parents overly jealous chihuahua whenever I'm over and all she continues to do is try to play with him... Only time I've ever been hurt by my husky is when she cut my lip accidentally head butting me trying to lick my face Razz

Besides that as mentioned above... if the toilet paper roll or garbage counts then yes perhaps she has attacked once or twice Wink

Also if you read the snippet about the author it tells us that he likes to scour the web for various news and information. He also likes tech toys and anything digital. I would almost bet he got this list from other sources and felt no need to do further research.
Just my thoughts on it.

Maybe the author meant to put something in about people choking to death on hair. Smile
Seriously though this is the worst article I've ever seen and it looks like no research went into it. Wolf hybrids safer than huskies...... Ok

Additional note, the first page has dogs breed to be hunting dogs and a dog that was breed to protect against LIONS as safer than a husky.... Never had an idea Bella was that fierce

The fact that an unpredictable animal like a wolf/dog hybrid is before 8 other domestic breeds tells me this guy has no idea what he is talking about.. Just my two cents.
