| Hello! New member from Pennsylvania. This is Ianto: he turned 5 on September 29. |

| Welcome Asaroka! Lanto is gorgeous! Just curious where you got your bicycle attachment and how you like it? |

| Thanks! It's actually a just bungee leash from Howling Dog wrapped around my handlebars. Surprisingly, for the amount I bike with Ianto, it's only slipped under the front tire 3-4 times, and only one of those times was really bad. Ianto is wearing HD's Distance Harness, and was wearing HD's Dura Booties while running. Since the only bike trail that is close enough for me to walk to is asphalt, he has to wear the booties or he'll wear his pads raw. In the spring I was thinking of getting a bike attachment since Pittsburgh salts too much to safely bike with a dog in the bike lanes in the winter. I have a basic plastic sled and a wheel dog harness for snow |

| Hi Ami, Thanks for the info about the bungee leash. That's really smart that you use the booties to protect his feet. I've heard great things about the Springer bike attachments. The plastic sled and snow harness sounds really fun! Makes me want to find some snow, LOL. |

| I can't wait for snow! I do need to get a new sled. I broke mine last year :C
Are the Springer Bike attachments the ones where if you go on one side of a pole and your dog on the other, the thing snap-releases?

| Bummer about the sled, but it is a nice excuse to do some shopping, LOL. Yes, that's the Springer. Here's the manufacturer website you can check out for more info, but I know you can get a good deal on Amazon. http://www.springeramerica.com/ Edited to add, I found more info on Amazon than the Springer site. http://www.amazon.com/Springer-Bike-Attachment/dp/B0087YCI42/ref=sr_1_1/177-1881541-6969840?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1415563227&sr=1-1&keywords=springer+dog+bike+attachment Also, here is a less expensive brand of bike attachment, available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Bike-Balance-Dog-Jogger-Kit/dp/B004KGD9W6/ref=sr_1_4/177-1881541-6969840?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1415563227&sr=1-4&keywords=springer+dog+bike+attachment The owner on http://www.gttsd.com uses a Springer, but she also uses a leash and collar simultaneously, just in case something happens with the Springer.

| Yeah: that's the one with the auto-release. Ianto has a really strong prey drive, so if he got loose he'd start hunting.
I was looking at one that attaches below your handlebars and extends a line over your front tire so it won't get tangled. Since huskies were bred to pull and follow directions, I think that would be the better route. I'll have to find the website again and share it. |
