Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Ate silica gel packet.. Empty
PostSubject: Ate silica gel packet..   Ate silica gel packet.. EmptyFri Feb 27, 2015 3:47 am

This has been a wild month for my boy's tummy. When you think you're doing your best to do everything right, things still happen! That's something I've learned ever since I got Mylo..

To keep it short..Mylo ate and passed a one inch open safety pin, a chocolate with almond Hershey's nugget, and now today he gulped down a 1x1 inch silica gel packet that fell on the floor...I already searched and learned that it's non-toxic stuff and that it will be okay but I'm wondering if anyone else's sibe has gulped down a little silica packet? I'm still worried and keeping a close eye on him.

Bourbon tried to eat a 1x2 silca packet that fell out of his freeze dried sardines that jumped out of the package and flew to the floor. I had to scoop it out of his mouth. I wondered if it was the sardine smell because I have never had a dog scramble to get one when it fell on the floor. Granted it flew right in front of him so I can not say if he really is different the my other dogs who have sniffed and walked away from them or if it was the right series of conditions.I have just kept an eye on those little packets though now.

I was opening a package I had just recieved and Mylo was right next to me assuming it's something for him and then boom the little packet fell the he got it super fast and walked away with it..gulped it down in 2 or 3 seconds! Yes I tried to take it out of his mouth but as always he turns in to a growling slashing beast when you try to take away something he's chewing. Just got up this morning and he seems normal and ate his breakfast as usual. He hasn't pooped yet, I can't wait to see.

Mishka has eaten a lot of things along the lines of napkins and plastic wrappers. He's always just passed them with no problems...
