Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Soooo a friend may be needing to rehome his 10 week old puppy. It's a female and I'm considering. He needs to move away suddenly for work and the pup needs a home. Sooo what should I consider before saying yes? Bandit is just about 9 months.

Well, there's the oh obvious tangible stuff:

-money
-space
-time (which you seem to have recently complained a lot about not having much of and Bandit being home alone a lot)

But also,

-Bandit is about to enter her adolescence which means she will become more challenging, testing limits, requiring more and more exercise, and needing more training and attention
-there's a HUGE difference in the amount and type of exercise a 10 month old and a 10 week old dog needs, so it will actually require two separate walks and two separate training or exercise sessions
-Bandit has been a solo dog thus far and you've had a considerable amount of trouble and difficulty getting her trained, stabilized, and calm. That . Will. Change. Considerably. with a new puppy in the house.

I think your two biggest concerns are time issues and subsequent behavioral issues.

Lately things have been incredibly smoothly. Knock on wood. I really want another one but i forgot so quickly how different things are now vs a 10 week old. Hmmm i know it would be a bad choice but i am pondering it maybe even temperary untill a more permanant home is found. Idk if that be even worse or not. Hmmmmm

Haha. I'm not gonna tell you yes or no or should or shouldn't, but, if you take her in the chances are very good that you'll keep her.

I know im afraid of that. How will bandit react do you think? Jealous or excited? Freak her out? What could i do to make sure things go smoothly if i do decide?

Since my involvement in the "husky world", I have learned that multiples are usually better than solo, as they are pack oriented.

BUT, I have also been seeing lots of issues with 2 females rather than 2 males or 1 of each.
Some may disagree with this, but I have been given to understand that females tend to not get along as well with each other. Obviously there are exceptions to this.

My two cents...
