| So as most of you are caught up, we are planning on picking up fluffy butt #2 (tentatively named Logan) in June when he will be about 5.5 months old. I was just wondering what you all found the need to purchase when going from one dog to two. Obviously there is like collar/harness and another leash, but are there things that I wouldn't think of? We still have Bode's kennel which we don't use for him anymore, so won't need to buy a new one of those. Thoughts? |

| Seconding everything Rachel has said.
Dog bed? Extra brushes and shampoo maybe. Treats for training and chews for pointy puppy teeth. _________________ |

| Also, maybe a baby gate to keep him in one specific area at home? We use one for Oakley so he doesnt go into the basement otherwise it'd be bad news! |

| Usually we mostly have to buy a new round of puppy toys. Lots of different toys to keep teeth on toys. Puppy kongs, soft toys, food dispensing toys... We crate all of ours when we are not home so we do have to have as many crates as dogs but I collected them over the years so I actually have 1 more crate than I do dogs right now. Same for baby gates. They collect over time if you look for used ones. Another blanket since everyone designates a blanket for laying and eating raw food. It's their personal bubble. I get fleece by the yard off the bolt at places like Joanns because it's durable, washes well, dries easy, doesn't shrink, and rarely stains while being a soft, squishy blanket for the dogs to lay on. After many destroyed dog beds we don't spend money on those. Mine share bowls and water buckets with minimal issues so I don't have as many as I do dogs. It's mainly the shiba who likes to lay in front of the resources and growl about it. She's my hardest dog to reprimand. |

| Like others have said, toys. Although it's not absolutely necessary, I wanted my new puppy to have their own toys. Whether they share them later on is up to them but I remember with my last two huskies, Anuschka had toys when she passed away that she had from a puppy, Malukhai on the other hand had remnants of toys from as little as a week before he passed away. They do treasure their own toys...in their own way only other thing, and I'm sure this is debateable, is food. Puppies can be brought up on a all life stages food...but my vet recommended puppy food. There's just more of what they need as far as brain development and all that stuff that, in my opinion, the benefits outweighed the convenience , so I opted to go with the vets recommendation and do the puppy food. I'm so excited for you guys!!! |

| I know that the breeder feeds a half raw half kibble diet...and approved my grain free diet when I fed kibble and definitely approves of my all raw diet now. As long as you are feeding something good, she won't mind. but, puppy will be used to eating both. |

| See I am one of those people that ends up with way to much dog stuff. When we had one dog we had ended up with 3 Kennels and 4 leashes and 3 sets of dog bowls.. I need to go through the stuff in my house.. So I mostly just bought puppy stuff like a small collar a little kong, puppy chews. Oh because you are picking up the pup on a trip and will be in a car and no home make sure you have cleaning stuff because my pup was always more likely to have an accident or throw up or something in a new place. |
