Hi all! Axe is 3 going on 4 months old. I've just started switching him from Pedigree mixed with a bit of milk to Acana Puppy, with 75% Pedigree and 25% Acana and a little bit of water instead of milk. His stool has started becoming watery with bits of solids, and he has taken to sleeping a lot. Should I be worried?

He could be sleeping a lot if he is dehydrated from his watery poop. Make sure he a lot of fresh water. Why were you mixing Pedigree with milk just of out curiousity? My puppy has been on Acana since we brought him home and it's an excellent kibble. He could be adjusting to the new kibble which could take a little over a week.

The breeder was mixing Pedigree with milk since the kibble was a bit hard. axe's poop has now gone firm again after we removed the milk and the water. We are still keeping the ratio at 75% Pedigree and 25% Acana, and plan to make it 50%-50% after a week.

Mixing cows milk with dog food is a good way to provoke diarrhea since after the first couple of months, most dogs develop a lactose intolerance. I thought I had posted this earlier but apparently the Internet Gods decided I wasn't awake enough to post.

Hahaha! That's alright. Happens to me sometimes as well... We hope to have Axe fully on Acana by the end of the month. Will it matter if we alternate between flavors of Acana?
