Is this normal?? I'm not really sure. She had a small fight with out other dog, a chihuahua/daschund mix and her nose was bit for a little bit, no bleeding whatsoever after the event. She's been acting normal as usual, no different in energy at all and eating well. I'm not sure if this is happening because of this or if I have only started noticing this now, but anyone have any idea if this is okay or not? Thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure what it is you're pointing out. Her nose looks to be a little dry which could be entirely normal for this time of year - depending on where you are. Or are you referring to the white along the fur line, which is quite normal in a light furred dog?

Oh sorry! I totally forgot to say that. I'm wondering about the yellow/mustardy dry colour along the side of her nose.

We're in San Francisco!

Are you sure it's not dried up dirt or something? You can see it on the white fur too so it's not just her nose.

My boy's nose would look like that and worse after a day at the dog park or beach due to all the sand sticking to his nose and it sometimes took a few days clear completely clear off.

Ah, that helps.  If it's something that's just shown up, I might suggest that it's tree pollen that she's picking up and then draining onto the edge of her nose.  (( Knowing that you're in SF and that SF is having a pollen alert might suggest that. ))  Many trees have a yellow pollen and pine trees in particular ... and thinking about the trees on the ridge overlooking the Golden Gate bridge ... well, maybe.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about it if it clears up when the pollen level goes down.

(( and I'm getting away with these, since you've said where you are, and if you plan on sticking around, would you mind putting your location in your profile so I don't have to try to remember it - at almost 70, my memory sure isn't what it used to be. ))

ETA: yep, Valerie, sand around the beach in SF is a real possibility as well.
