Hi guys

Another food question I'm afraid, we are taking ownership of a second sibe in the coming weeks and we were looking at reducing our food bill without reducing the quality. We are currently feeding Orijen Puppy and came acros this food which is listed below, they have excellent reviews and I did ask them a few questions via their Facebook page and they came back really quick with well backed answers. Feeding 2 dogs this is cheaper than feeding 1 orijen??? And It's made in the uk so just across the pond to me in Ireland, any thoughts on the food and it's content????

Thanks guys
Col

It's a small family run buisness in the uk which started up in 2011 I believe. It works out at £49.99 for 15 kg compare to £63.00 for 13.5 kg of orijen and the recommended feeding amounts less with Eden.

The manufacturer is Eden Hollistic pet foods.

Cheers

I'd say it appears to be a great alternative if your dogs do well on it. I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try if I were in your position.

You've already gotten good advice... wanted to weigh in on another alternative.

I imagine the cost of import is driving up the price of Orijen (already highly priced) but do they carry Acana over there? Made by the same manufacturer but with less protein. It's also an excellent food!

they do stock Acana here but to be honest the price is still not as competitive as Eden and I think looking at the analysis Eden is a better feed then Acana.

I have been very happy with orijen and our pup has done really well on it, but with two sibes I think it will be easier on the pocket to switch, I also do supplment some raw feeding but don't mix kibble and raw in the same meal.

Thanks for all your comments guys, I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes for any potential uk/Ireland fourm members.

Cheers
Col

I know this is a very old tread. But I was looking at the same food here recently as mine is fed up with wainwrights. And cant justify the price of evolution naturally. Does anyone feed this to their dog and is it worth it ? They have , I think, 3 different types of food. I was looking at country cuisine. As it has the smallest amount of protein to try and avoid upset tummy. And get her off fish stuff for a while as all she has been eating since she was 2m ( now she is nearly 7m) was fishy food.
