Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hi everyone! I just got my puppy Mars about a week ago. He is 7 weeks old and is my first puppy. I've had other dogs (mixed collie, labs, german shepherds) in my life but never my very own. My girlfriend and I are really excited and this past week has been incredible! Getting this little guy has been the best decision I have ever made! I've been lurking on this forum for about a month, ever since we found out we would be taking this little guy home with us when he was old enough. This forum is great and full of very useful information! But anyways, here's a few pictures of our little guy...

Greetings and welcome to our little bit of madness! Love that picture of the little one sleeping with his toy - in fact I love all your pictures of him.

Since I hail from the 1,000 islands are of NY state, do you mind if I ask which part of "upstate NY' you're from. NYC folk seem to have a definition that's a bit different from those of us from the St Lawrence River/Canadian border area.

Haha, I know what you mean. I have friends in NYC and anything not in the big city is considered "upstate" to them so that's how I have always interpreted it. I'm located in the Syracuse area. By my location, you are definitely more upstate than I am! Thanks for the greetings!

Welcome to the forum Chris.....I too am an upstate NY er originally....grew up near the Ithaca area, so downstate from y'all, lol. And how on earth do 2 fellow Texans from west central Texas and deep south Texas hail from upstate NY and end up here on a husky forum?, lol.....Beautiful pup you have, enjoy him, they grow fast.....

Thanks @MiyasMomma! Ithaca is a beautiful place! We plan on taking Mars to hikes at Treman State Park as soon as he is able to. That is too funny that you both moved to Texas from around here. I think I might be an Upstate NY lifer though!
