1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Hello, I rescued a 2 month or so Husky girl. Her mom was ran over by a car and she barely escaped that horrible accident.

We took her in and named her Lula and she's beautiful, but I've never own a Husky before.

She's eating Nature's Variety Instinct Chicken Meal Formula (kibble) 1/2 cup - 3 times a day.

What do you think about this food?
Chicken is a good choice or should I get salmon, or other main ingredient?
1/2 cup - 3 times a day for a Husky puppy is right?
Should I give her canned food or mix it with another food?

Please advice, my family and I are really on to give this girl the best life she can get after the horrible event she experienced.

Thank you!

Well I do know that this is one of the best foods out there, excellent choice. I think the amount is fine. You will slowly be feeding more as the pup ages, and then at around 8 months you will slowly go back down on the amount and frequency. You can rotate between the flavors, I have read some research that rotating proteins may help a dog to not become allergic to certain proteins. you can add raw if you like, although the kibble by itself is 100% complete and balanced. thank you for rescuing and we love pics here, so can't wait to see a pic of your little fluff ball. Smile Welcome to the forum!

Thank you Renee, I will rotate flavors as you suggest, it's a good idea!

I already had 2 chihuahuas Canica (Marble) and Toña (well... Toña), they are adjusting with Lula. I'm sure she'll end up being a "Huskyhuahua", they are getting along just fine with a few rough moments mainly with Canica (the Alpha dog) also the Chihuahuas are drawing some lines and setting up some rules to the Husky like the ownership of the bed and some toys.

I could not leave Lula alone after her tragedy so I brought her home and I know it's going to be quite a journey for me, my wife, my kids and my Chihuahuas but we are all eager to make Lula part of the family at any cost.

Here you have 2 pics of Lula. One on her first day at home (just a week ago) and the other one when she claimed my videogame playing puff seat as hers and stole an angry bird from the Chihuahuas bed.

"Muchas gracias" for your help, being a newby with a Husky is a big endeavour which requires all the available help and I'm sure this forum will be my safe haven.
