2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! NO PUPPY LOVE Empty
PostSubject: NO PUPPY LOVE    NO PUPPY LOVE EmptyMon Jun 26, 2017 11:30 am

Well I have a 5 1/2 month old pup. Recently my fiancé and I have moved into his parents because we are buying a new house and didn't want to pay on both houses. Our pup gets along great with their dog, if anything they are best friends now, but that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is recently in the past 2 or so weeks he has become less interested in us and more interested in my fiancés parents. My fiancé and I still feed him his food and water and all that and play with him and he sleeps in our bed lol, we don't hit him or anything when he is bad we just say no in a stern voice and he knows when he is bad... But Last night is where it hit me, we were getting ready to go to bed and he went and jumped in bed with them instead of us. I feel like I am taking this to heart lol but I love my pup and when I see him do that and go to them instead of me it hurts a little. Has anyone had this problem before? I don't understand

They are all little traitors at times. View your fiance's parents like the fun aunt and uncle. They are fun and new and don't get onto him and probably dote on him. My gsd mix is this same traitor when it comes to my mom. She comes over and it's like the rest of us don't even exist anymore. He has eyes only for her. When we go on vacation he wants to sleep with her and sit by her. She talks to him and loves on him and he can do no wrong by her and that feeds his obsession with her. Don't take it to heart. It's pretty natural. When you move out or the new of being there with them wears off he will still love you and know that you are the keeper of all things necessary in life like walks and food. They notice those things, even if they don't act like it sometimes.

They really are little traitors sometimes! It's nothing to take to heart. Our friends in Devner have a beautiful GSD who follows us around and tries to sleep with us when we visit. His owners call him "traitor dog". My huskies do the same with my brother and girlfriend who live upstairs from us. They see them as the cool aunt and uncle. If you really want the behavior to stop, talk to his parents and maybe ask them not to spoil the pup by letting him on their bed.

My husky puppy used to sleep on my bed, if she was in her kennel she would scream all night until i would let her back on. but after i crate trained her she would rather die than sleep on my bed but i caught her sleeping on my bed when i wasn't on it so i feel a little betrayed now.
