| Hello everyone!
My 9 month Huskita is not shedding unless i brush her then i can see some fur coming out but still just a bit. I know she does have a thick coat and an under coat as well. It's our first spring/summer and i was wondering if i should get her "THE FURMINATOR brush" to get more under coat out of her even if i don't see her shedding or maybe you guys can recommend any other brushes that are good as well!
Thank you :-) |

| Furminators are not recommended for huskies. I use just a basic rake and a pin brush if needed, but really I only use the rake. Furminators are known to cut hair, and they need their coat and undercoat to stay cool during the summer. If you use the search function, you should get some ideas on what to use, you can also type in furminator and will have more in depth explaination on why not to use and what is better to use. |

| I also recommend not using the furminator, I use an undercoat rake (love the paws pamper version) which does not cut the coat but if I have skipped a few grooming sessions and have a lot to work on, I will use it on just the undercoat and use a comb or slicker the rest of the way through the top coat. |

| I use a metal tail comb. I would not use a furminator it tends to drag and break fur. I've tried various brushes and combs. I've found a metal tail comb works great. I comb him every time I walk him which is twice a day. The fur is therefore not in my house or garden. |

| Yes, we used a furminator and it somehow cut the fur short on his shoulders...not only that, it sometimes made my dog uncomfortable and he would wave his mouth at me to say, “hey, cut it out.” There were certain places he did not want to be groomed.
When I switched to a comb, he now lies down flat and falls asleep during grooming. It took a long time, but I think his shoulder fur is back to normal now. ( And the comb cost like 30x less... I discovered it by accident...there was some undercoat in his “britches” that I could not get out, so I tried a comb and it worked great. )
