I'd also be interested in recall training so I look forward to the replies. |

| Ice is beautiful! We have been using Troy Wilson's Outback Dog Training videos on YouTube and we are having some success with recall! We started with his focus videos and then moved to recall. Good luck!

| Recall is a tough one for huskies to be obedient 100% of the time. Using a long line have the dog/pup use up most of the line, then use whatever command you want to use as the recall, mine is let's go, reel the pup back to you and reward, work on that and hopefully after a few tries you do less reeling in and the pup does it on their own. Recall is one of the reasons why it is not recommended to allow a huskies off leash, they are too independent with selective hearing. I also will stress the importance of using their name prior to using a command, since they tend not to hear just let's go, but will at least be somewhat responsive by using "Ice, Let's Go" I have not watched the video, but I will say that you may have to adjust your approach to any type of training methods to fit the husky personality. |

| Traci, seen part of the video, and he I think is a good choice to watch. At least he has a husky, and he does things in a positive manner. Similar to what I suggested. |

| Beautiful girl. Welcome to the forum. I haven't done much recall work. Mostly just putting them on a long line in a large fenced area and calling back to me. If they don't come I step on the line and force back. When they come they get treat. Over time and with bonding some can pick it up naturally to an extent but training to specifically be off leash in high stimulant situations with critters and the great wide open is difficult and will take time. You are never really done training recall for a husky. Another thread that may be of value, though not on the topic of recall, is this one: https://www.itsahuskything.com/t17798-canine-biomechanics-and-harness-choice?highlight=harnessNot sure what kind of harness you are using but if you use a harness a lot you may want to switch styles. The thread goes into why and what is recommended. Obviously once you get solid recall you probably won't be using a harness but worth passing on the knowledge of how harness style can affect your dog in the long run. _________________ |

| Thanks for your comments. I appreciate it. I have already been doing the Ice come command on a long line, tugging when necessary and clicking and treating. Also using a whistle. Will watch the vids; As to the harness, thanks for that. She came with this harness which is primarily for the seat belt in the car. I don't attach the line to it. |
