2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Furminator Shampoo and Conditioner Empty

Ok guys, so here's the scoop from a dog groomer that washes huskies, newfies, labs, etc.
This is my first informational post, please feel free to correct me! I promise I won't mind Smile

The Details:
It is oatmeal based(good for sensitive skin!), with special fats in the shampoo and conditioner, that actually nourishes the dogs skin. The goal of using the shampoo isn't for the dog to never shed, but to shed only during changing seasons. The smell is a nice, sort of tropical.

The Method:
The key is letting the shampoo and conditioner sit for five minutes each. You really want to let the nutrients soak in! (it also helps with keeping them smelling nicer, longer!)

The Results:
They are not immediate!
To see an actual change, monthly washes must happen. Over the course of a few months (usually three months is when you notice), you will see a difference. Like HUGE difference in the shedding! The huskies I wash still do shed some, but it is vastly different from before! The reason the shedding decreases is that the fur is healthier and so they are less likely to lose it Smile

The Price:
Ok, so for a specialty shampoo, it is about average price, (13.99/bottle) HOWEVER! You can buy a gallon (GALLON!!!) for about $50 off of amazon. I use about 3-6 pumps (depending on the dogs size) usually about 5 for a husky since their fur is so thick.

Let's do the math:
1 Gal=128 oz (1 pump = about 1 oz)
5 X 1oz = 5oz per bath!
128oz/5oz= around 25 baths per gallon!

So, you get over a 2 years worth of Shampoo and Conditioner for $100, at around $4 per bath. Whew! Math is our friend today lol!

Overall, I recommend this shampoo to anyone who wants to decrease daily shedding and promote coat health.

ALSO! I do not recommend the Furminator brush for use on huskies because it actually cuts the individial hairs and compromises the huskies insulation ability.

Thanks for reading, hope this helped!!
