Hello guys, my Girl Bella is 2 years old now we previously used frontline for her, but it’s out of stock in Dubai where we live.

I now can only find Advantix or Advocate for sale around here. Which one is recommend..? Obviously she’s on her dewarming tables every 3 month, but now I don’t know how to cover her for fleas tics etc..

I've had decent luck with Advantix in the past. I've not tried Advocate. I'm actually switching to the Seresto collar for this upcoming season. A bit pricey upfront if you can get them, but cheaper in the long run than topicals and it did fantastic for my cat last season during my trial runs with it.

I've used Advantix II It seems to kill just about everything and it kills on contact, which is nice. It says to spread the drops out and to the base of the tail, but I don't go that far down for fear my dog will lick back there and ingest it. IDK has anyone applied it to the base of the tail. I heard they don't like the smell of it?

There are horror stories for all flea and tick treatments. Though I would have a hard time thinking the collar might could be the culprit behind that. Would be interested to hear if the collar was actually proven. So far my three on the collar have done fine. I'm still deciding if I like it for the dogs. It has worked great on my cat. Seems to work fantastic if you have flea troubles. So far the jury is out on it's effectiveness against ticks. I have seen some ticks on the dogs, though not many. But the ones that have bitten are still alive when I pull them off, though I am likely getting them before the collar has a chance to kill. I may do a more thorough review as the collar ages and I get the fitment right. They seem to want to loosen, or stretch, with time and I wonder if some of its effectiveness goes down when it's sitting looser around their necks.

Jenn, I am certain collar fit is necessary for effectiveness.  When I called the company re  Ami and wooly coat, they said the collar needed skin contact.  There's a controlled release  the insecticide which gets taken up by the skin and v distributed in the oil glands.  I've heard good things about the Seresto but decided it wasn't an effective choice  Ami's coat.
