2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

My heart is breaking tonight for a young family that has known much heartache in the past few years. Their beautiful 2 year old male GSD got out, took himself on a romp and did not survive a car. Sampson was his name and he was deeply loved by his family as well as many in the community who knew him.

I don't know how much more this family can take.. her mother, his father, their stillborn first child, all taken way before their time. They are good people and don't deserve all this heartache.

RIP Sampson, you were loved and will be forever remembered Sad

Oh and he was a handsome looking brute. My sympathies to the young couple - there isn't much else I can say. It hurts to see someone having to try to stand up to this much pain....

He lost his dog on the second anniversary of his dad's death. Wrote a beautiful tribute with a lesson for all of us.

"Dad, everyday I wish you were still here.  But even more so when days like today happened.  Today you have been gone for two years, and today we lost Samson.  I remember how much you loved him and would adopt him as “your buddy.”  Life is unfair, and sometimes it doesn’t relent.  But I know you would encourage me to fight the good fight, to press forward through the storms, and keep the faith!

Love the ones around you well, and take not one moment for granted.  Why is it so easy to do that?  To go through the daily grind, chasing the dream for some, making a living, maintaining everything that needs to be maintained, all the things that really don’t matter at the end of your life.  Nothing like where your faith lies, or how you loved your wife, or how your relationships with family and friends were, how you fathered your children.  Love the ones around you well.  Really pause and soak up the presence of your family, your wife, your children, even your dogs!  Bless them all with your words and your time.  When you get frustrated, pause and make it right.  When your rushed, pause and make it right.  When you get angry, pause and make it right.  You never know what tomorrow holds! Thank God there’s so much more to life than what meets the eye."

What a great tribute, and a great reminder of what's important in life.

How sad to lose a young dog that way!
