Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Introducing Zorro Empty
PostSubject: Introducing Zorro    Introducing Zorro EmptyFri Feb 04, 2022 11:27 pm

Been around for a few weeks now but thought I ll introduce us!! Meet Zorro…he is 3yrs and had quite a story!! Somehow he landed at a shelter…not doing well!! But fast forward he found his forever home with us…two skeptics turned believers and has a GSD sibling and a kitty. He came in highly stressed, a bit unsure due to some prior abuse, underweight, flea ridden, severe diarrhea, UTI. Not to mention a giardia infection while at the shelter. Introducing Zorro 5d17a010

But happy nonetheless, cuddly and lot of woo-woos and happy dances!! Loves hiking and long walks, watching TV and lots of roobs!! Eats like he never saw food for ages!! Will be posting more on this survivor Smile

Giardia is a bear to deal with. Making sure you don't end up with the other animals getting it can be a hassle. My middle dog had giardia and whipworms when I got him. I had to run around my backyard with bleach spray, a bag, and lysol wipes so I could make sure to contain every ounce of poop. Would pick up the poop, bleach the spot it fell, then wipe his butt and feet down with the lysol wipes until he tested clear.

Thank you. That was very helpful tip. He tested clear now. But I was worried when he came out positive. He also had to be on bland diet when we got him home. Now he is eating well and I think even gained a lil weight. He is looking healthy and not his mellow self right after he came from the shelter. There is a bit of that husky spunk now Smile

Great looking girl ... he resemble one I had to put down last fall which leaves me with really mixed emotions ... not your dog, just me.

Really glad that he's coming up so well.  Rescues really do make the best dogs, even if sometimes you have unexpected problems until they settle in.
