I've read so much mixed info on this, one says raw chicken breasts are okay another says no, one says raw eggs are okay, another says no.

Can I just buy raw meat from the meat section of grocery store and feed it to my husky? What meats and cuts are okay to do this with?

Typically people feed chicken leg quarters. But that is not a balanced diet. There are multiple posts about raw feeding on here. If I remember correctly, something like 80% meat bones, 10% organs and 10%...ummm, something else. Memory. I don't feed raw and it's been quite a while since I've read much about it

I do not, typically, overly worry about that. It is assumed, with chicken, that the vast majority, organic or conventional, is infected with salmonell, campylobactor and clostridium perfringens. Potentially more of a problem for people than dogs though still some risk. Important is kitchen hygiene to prevent contamination to people food.

The butcher where I get my bones has tubes of ground dog food I have no idea what is in that and no intention of going the raw food route - I believe it can be done nutritionally adequate and safely but to do so would be a major pain in the butt requiring consistent attention to detail. Which I am not willing to do when I find my current food results in healthy, happy, energetic dogs.

We did the cooked thing for awhile and there is a really good site that ypu enter everything in and it tells you whats too high/low/missing. I got my hearts and kidneys from the elk ranch. They are human grade. I got calf liver at the grocery store. And then i alternated meat. There was way way more ti it and im glad splinter will eat normal dog food again
