Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

The Desert Pack - Page 7 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Desert Pack   The Desert Pack - Page 7 EmptySun Nov 24, 2024 7:50 pm

I haven't used anything but a MS 5050 keyboard for years - literally, since I moved out here which was 13 years ago.  MS has discontinued service for anything except the Surface models of computer <maybe, I think?> but according to this page it's been discontinued.

So I had to get something different and as much as I dislike Logitech this is working okay.  The only qualm I have is that the back of the keyboard isn't high enough ... I'll work on that.

I started 'keypunching' on one of these in the late '60's so my 'typing' to program has always been pretty basic.  I didn't like the old 'kluckety IBM' keyboards but got to like the full keyboards that weren't so noisy.
Am I rambling ????  Yep. sure am ....

We're old, Al, we're allowed to ramble. And the young 'uns , out of respect for elders, are obligated to listen. But they are allowed to roll their eyes 🤪

@lostmaniac Don't like your g15 kbd. In the first place it's way too much kbd and in the second it has a string or something coming off the back of it. Smile

Its wired. So its the usb cord. They dont make it anymore. I liked it because i coukd have my clocking and temps displayed on ot without an overlay or looking at something. I think i was running the 4ghz clawhammer at almost 5ghz by tweaking threads. When i was in high-school i started building custom overclocked gaming systems for people then college i did that some but i opend a company and was contracted to build cryptography machines for the dod. And then i came to the realization that i hate computers.

Yah, I know it's weird, that's what I said in a sorta round about way.
You started building machines, probably about the same time I did (say mid-late '70's) (( Oops, if your age is right, you weren't even born til the mid 80's Damn it's rough getting old!!))

I got away from wired keyboards about as quick as I could. I've always set back when I'm typing - at least as far as I could and with a wired keyboard that was never very far.  Now if they'd just standardize the dongle so we can tell it what it's supposed to use.  You know one dongle that gets used for several different brands / types of kdbs.

Funny oops here ... I had laundry on the clothes line last night and then the wind came up so I had to go out and bring it in.  I don't have a light out back and the moon wasn't quite bright enough to see well by so I apparently dropped a t-shirt.  At least that's what it looks like what Belle took off across the front yard waving in the breeze.

We had a cold front go through last night (that was the wind that kicked up) my wrist hurts (broke it in a motorcycle accident) and apparently Sky isn't feeling too peppy either, she's told Belle to 'back off bitch!' a couple of times.
