| I've been putting triotic ointment on it. It's really greasy so even if he licks it it stays for a little while. The swelling and redness has gone down sooo much. Even looks like the fur is growing back. _________________ |

| I think it might be demodex mange. My husky had it when he was a puppy / adolescent. It is an immune system thing. (might be related to allergies?) I don't think there was much the vet did - I can't really recall. His nose eventually got better - never got much worse than the pics you are showing. But it took until he was well into adulthood. It came and went. |

| Do you have a doctor around you that specializes in skin? You could try that route. I'd get a scraping, up the fish oil and vitamin, and rub some coconut oil on it. Coconut oil is God's gift to man...antiviral, anti fungal, antibacterial. |

| I'll have to look into if we have any vets that are skin specialists. How much fish oil and vitamin e do you think I should give him? He weighs 55lbs right now. I actually stopped supplementing him about a week ago to see if that was causing his issues but it never made any difference. And he'd probably let me put coconut oil on it more easily than the medicine so I'll have to try that as well.
Thanks Megan! _________________ |

I agree! I use it for everything! I recently made a face moisturizer and added a wee bit or oregano oil and that has been great! Totally stopped my hormonal breakouts. For Diz, I started to use straight coconut oil on his feet. It's made a big difference. It soaks in rather quickly, and what doesn't soak in, he licks off, and I don't have to worry about it causing tummy issues. |

| I give him coconut oil with his food so he likes it. I have also used it as my own moisturizer! It definitely leaves everything silky smooth even after I have to wash my hands for some reason.
I just put some on his nose. He was a little more accepting of the coconut oil but we'll have to work on it. So here's to hoping it helps (and that I can get him to let me do it at least twice a day)! _________________ |

| There is actually a doctor that specializes in dermatology in Metairie. I'm going to call them and see what they say.
Thanks Amy! It sounds very similar to that and Lupus, so I think I just need to bring him to a specialist. _________________ |

| He's from Mikayla Kennels in Arkansas. Not the best breeder. _________________ |

| I can always email them and ask if they've had any puppies or dogs have lupus or zrd. Zrd is the other possible cause but also seems odd since I already feed the high zinc content foods which is what everything I've read so far says to do as well as supplementing with fish oil. _________________ |
