2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. So, the stupid hubby didnt double check the garbage can and delilah had a feast. Now I'm freaking out because i know she got a turkey bone and I am terrified she is going to get sick/tear her stomach lining/etc/ I am literally freaking out.

Have any of you dealt with this before?

What can I do?

I'm watching her closely and I know the exact location of an E vet if I need it.

I think closely monitoring her is all you can really do right now. She may vomit if she ate too much junk. Keep an eye on her. If she stops drinking, has trouble pooping, etc. then call the vet.

No, but my sister is. I call her about this stuff all of the time. Frankie is notorious for eating s**t. The only time she made me take them to the vet for emergency xrays was when I couldn't find the razor blade portion of the paper cutter they chewed. Rolling Eyes
Thank goodness there were no foriegn objects.

Most dogs could handle the trash, but it may make them sick. I would just be a little more observant because of the bones

like i said, the hubby wasnt being attentive. I'm a worrier as it is. Delilah is my heart dog. I'd be lost without her. So, naturally, I am freaking out.

Hope she's okay! My bf's dad would feed his dog cooked bones all the time. He didn't know it was bad for them. His dog never had any issues, but we did tell him to stop feeding her them.

i would just watch her. if she isnt coughing and trying to vomit it should be ok. Libby once got an entire rotisserie chicken, she ate almost the entire thing, she had a small piece of cartiliage get stuk in her throat but eventually coughed it up. the vet wasnt too worried when i called. It was worse when i went to get into bed and found the rest of the carcus under the covers. that was so gross.you worry like i do, about everything. dont be too hard on hubby, im sure he feels bad.

Chili swallowed parts of a toy and I freaked out - the internet vets advised lubricating with some pumpkin puree or peanut butter - and 1 teaspoon of olive oil per 10 lbs of weight. Warning : it'll make them poop! He ended up pooping out some and throwing up some.

I totally understand where you're coming from - you worry about them with stuff like this!

Oh No!!!!!!!!!!!!
Linus in his younger years was NOTORIOUS for getting away on trash night...he would spend the night alley-cruising the trash cans. The next day was always horrible when he got home.....I have no idea what, exactly, he ate, but was sick each time after he got home. Stoopid dogs just love the stinky stuff!
Our Sisi, now....she has eaten LOTS of things she shouldn't and given us a scare or two. Two emergency surgeries. Can you say "Bye-bye tax refund?"
I am hoping your baby will be just fine. Hubby will have learned his lesson, I think. Your Delilah, ummm, not so much. We keep our trash can on the attic stairs, behind a closed door.
Keep us posted!

Well, so far delilah is her cute little pain in the butt self. We got a kitten this morning ( long story ) and she has been fascinated all damn day. Otherwise, she's normal. I had quite a scare though. Sad
