Polar now weighs 34 ish pounds and hes about 19/20 inches at the shoulder. But i think he is small built and not underweight. I can feel his ribs but cant see them but i can feel his spine quite alot but not his hip bones or anything. Is it normal to feel his spine? I'll upload some pics inasec.

I can feel Ginger's spine a lot especially when she's in a C-curl.
Polar doesn't sound too thin from your description, IMO.

Looks fine to me too. When they're young their weights flux a lot and it's "normal" for them to look skinny. Looks just fine for a 6 month old to me.

You want to be able to feel their ribs but don't want to see them. Just my opinion but Huskies have to be one of the spiniest dogs ever. I think if it ever came to the point you couldn't feel the spine the dog will be morbidly obese.

Your pup looks very healthy.

Looks ok to me. Sasha is 38lbs but taller and the vet says she's ok. I'd be happier if she put on a few lbs but she regulates her own eating.

Hes still only 15KG, apparently my dad was walking him the other day and saw a 7 month old husky double his size! Hes neary 21 inches at the shoulder but looks so tiny do most huskys go over usually go over 23 inches and is polar very undersized?

A lot of huskies are taller than the breed standard. In fact, most of the sibes we meet are noticeably taller than my male who is 22" tall. Even most female sibes we meet are taller than my boy. I went to a pet expo in September and met a 3 month old husky puppy that was the same size as my 6 yr old male...talk about a HUGE puppy! That thing is going to be a monster sibe when full grown. I wouldn't compare Polar's size to other huskies if he's a proper height, I stopped comparing my boy who is the right size to others a long time ago since probably 95% of all sibes we meet are considerably larger than mine which means they're all over breed standard.

Was it really a husky or a mal/cross? According to breed standards, huskies aren't that big.

I think Polar is a beautiful dog. I'd love him no matter if he was big or small. It's all about heart and intrinsic "huskyness" (Is that a word?) that matters. Don't worry about his size.

My last husky was a girl who was, I think, over-standard, 67 lbs and not fat.
My boy now is on the small size, 21 inches and 42 lbs.
But each dog was unique and had advantages. Tasha was a wonderfully, loving sweet dog who was independent and no push-over. Bodhi has astonishing agility and jumping ability. I love his enthusiasm and energy. They were/are very different dogs in size and temperament. They were/are both marvelous dogs.

Liam, I wouldn't sorry so much over Polar's weight. He looks and sounds perfectly fine and it's totally normal for them to keep filling out until 2-3 years old. Polar's current height and weight at this age does not sound concerning at all. My boy was 22 inches and 44 lbs at 2 yrs old, he's now 50 lbs at 6 yrs old (same height), but he didn't finish filling out until around 2.5-3 yrs of age. Even at 22" and 44 lbs at 2 yrs of age he looked really thin which is normal for young huskies who haven't filled out yet.

Liam: I've had Bodhi for eleven months. He is two years and 3 months.
When I got him he was 20 1/2 inches tall and weighed 38 lbs. (2.7 stone?)
I could feel his ribs easily. He seemed ALL ribs.

Both the breeder from whom I got him and my vet said he was perfectly healthy.
He has filled out some, but I doubt he'll ever be 50 lbs.
I feed him 2 3/4 cups of kibble a day. He's an enthusiastic eater.

I am sure that by the time he's two, Polar will over 40 lbs.
He'll probably end up bigger than Bodhi.

I love your sig picture of him looking at his food dish!
