I did a scrapbook for my Dakota and since it was before digital, I have no way of scanning them so I took a couple of pics of the pages I completed. I have tons of pics but just selected a few pages....Now you can see what he looked like as a puppy. It's been two months since he passed and it seems like I haven't seen him in years. I miss him.

He was a cute puppy! I did a scrapbook for the dog I had growing up and it really helped me work through the loss. I still cry every time I look at the last page, which has a picture I took the day before she passed away. Hang in their Mindy, I know how deeply you must miss him.

Thanks Melissa! The funny thing is, I had no intentions of getting Dakota when I went to the breeder. I wanted a female, but after seeing him get chased all over buy the breeders kids and how terrified he was of them, I had to rescue him! Best decision ever!

Aw Mindy, I'd love to say it'll get easier but it doesn't not really anyway. I lost a very special cat who was an amazingly smart little guy a couple years ago. His tags hang on my rear view mirror. Makes me smile when I see them but I'm tearing up just thinking about him. They really dig in deep.

I did a shadow box with a picture of the first day I adopted my horse, and on my birthday with him. The shadow box has a part of his mane and tail and his shoes....it's sitting over the fireplace mantle...I miss him....

Boy is that so true! He burrowed deep and I am thankful for it as you all must be for your lost loved ones. It's sad to think almost everyone on here has experienced the loss of a loved pet. Despite the heartache from their loss, we reaped such great rewards from their love.

Claudia, I am doing a shadow box as well. I have his collar, paw print and that last pic that will go in it. I haven't found the right box yet...

Mindy you made such a memorable scrap book, i love doing crafts but never find the time. i have at least started to print my pictures to put in albums. i love my digital photo frame but i love flipping the books as well. Dakota was such a cute puppy and a handsome man! i dread the day i have to say goodby, my ferrets were hard and they were only in my life a few short years before cancer took all 3 with in a 2yr span.

He was an adorable puppy! I'll read the rest of the post when I'm not at work and won't worry about crying...since after 3 I'm tearing up thinking about my Taylor.

Thanks everyone. I knew I would miss him but I didn't understand just how much. Some days I can talk about him with a smile on my face and others I can't stop the tears from forming when something makes me think of him. Most people in my life don't understand it but I know you all do.

Me too!

and I understand the pain you are going through, the loss of my cat is still a VERY raw wound, and it's been since June 14th. There are days when I can't stop the tears either when I think about him.

That is a sweet memory! My Beautiful Dakota Loveshower

Reminded me of when we got Calypso. My man, Ty, saw pictures of her and her littermates and for whatever reason, we just thought about getting a boy. Once we showed up, and spent time with the pups and the parents, we were just smitten with the girl! She was the only girl! Isn't that funny? The poor thing, surrounded by boys! LOL! And if that wasn't enough, the breeder did have children of her own, so we were set in our decision to get the girl. She just has the sweetest face.

Lovely scrapbook of your Dakota, thanks for sharing!
