It's a matter of why he doesn't like the kibble - what kind is it? Chili is pretty picky and we went through a few samples to get to where we are.

Have you tried adding some warm water to it to make a gravy? We also add salmon oil to our dog's food and they lick the bowl every time! Smile They also love when we put pureed pumpkin on their meals (the canned, non-spiced one).

Val would have some more advice on the tuna with oil. A treat every now and then would be ok, but I wouldn't want to expose them to so much mercury on a regular basis.

the people i got him from said he wouldnt touch the stuff, i leave a bowl of dry kibble nothing added for free feed and then he gets his mixed food every night and he usually eats the whole thing but i can tell hes getting bored of the eggs (cant blame him) but when hes really hungry hell eat his mixed food and then half a bowl of the dry i just want to give the guy some thing else to chow on and wasnt sure how "good" the tuna is

I have been adding chicken broth or beef broth to Blaze's.

Ihave been trying to switch him to TOTW he does like it but I have two different kinds and really need to use it up. Maybe he will eat it after a while.

I also add Pumpkin sometimes.

Pumpkin helps with digestion.

There is low sodium broth you can purchase.

Quote :
Raw Eggs

There are two problems with giving your dog raw eggs. The first is the possibility of food poisoning from bacteria like Salmonella or E. coli. The second is that an enzyme in raw eggs interferes with the absorption of a particular B vitamin. This can cause skin problems as well as problems with your dog's coat if raw eggs are fed for a long time.

First off, raw eggs are perfectly fine to feed, in fact they are really good for your dogs.

As for the tuna, there's no harm in feeding it but I would do so in moderation and I would personally opt for tuna in water. Mercury build up is the primary reason I would keep tuna and fish products to moderated use.

Have you tried any other toppers since you insist on using them? If River is getting tired of the egg you have so many different options. Some simple mixers/topper examples are broth (I wouldn't worry about a small amount mixed in), canned dog food, Ziwipeak, Nupro mixed with water to make a gravy, a little pumpkin, a bit of sweet potato, or even some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I wouldn't do any one thing long term but you can expand their horizons by mixing it up a bit and there are so many more things you can do.

Cottage cheese and plain yogurt are popular toppers/mixers as well with some folks.

Fingers crossed you find some more stuff River will take.

Baby and I are both as good as can be expected. We're both hanging in there, doc wants her to stay put for at least one more week and then I'll be begging her to come out! Lol
