2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

We have been Siberian owners for 15 years. Two have left us to the Rainbow Bridge in the past year, our Sasha and Dakota. We still have our loveable 13 y/o Kayak]

I hope Kayak is handling the loss of his brother and sister well. Willow moped around the house without Dakota. it was heartbreaking to watch. I got another one pretty fast hoping to get her out of that funk and it worked. She is much younger though...1 year and 6 months.

Sasha was the first to pass from a Tumor on her liver and a month after her "Rainbow Bridge" journey, Dakota became severe Diabetic and we believe it was due to Sasha's passing for she was his "rock", Dakota was a rescue at 1 year. He had 5 homes in his first year, we will not say more but he spent 3 months before we got him at a Vet clinic recovering from abuse. He then passed from complications of Diabetes. We have done extensive research on Dogs with Diabetes. Information we never received from the Vet. If we would have know months after he was diagnosed, we feel Dakota may still be here today.

When Dakota did cross to the Bridge, Kayak didn't eat for 30 days. Then he slowly came back around.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. It sounds like you gave them a wonderful life after a rough start. My Dakota passed during a seizure. The emergency vet believes that he had a brain tumor which my regular vet never mentioned as a possibility to me. I'm learning it's important to do my own research and not totaly rely on the vet.

You are so right with that! We experienced that also with Sasha but I guess we can thank our beautiful Huskies for making us better dog owners for the future ones. They are always teaching us. If we could only understand the true meaning of "unconditional" as they do, we would be a better species. The old saying " when dogs leave us, I want to go where they go".

Welcome to the forum, sad to hear about the passing, though they are gone, they are never truely gone as long as there is one memory of them.

Thank you for the welcome. Very true what you said. Every time we look into Kayak's eyes, we still see all three of them.

Thank you for the welcome. Kayak is a needy Siberian and demands all of our attention now. He never did before. Sasha kind of stole the show, she was the Alpha of anything living. Dakota being older brother would not let Kayak steal his thunder. Now Kayak expects everything to be about him and we give that to him.

Yes, loosing a dear pet difficult, but there is something about huskies that makes it much more difficult and people that have never had one don't quite understand.

Oh, btw...Lived in Vermont for 2 yrs.miss the snowmobile trails for walking/hiking the poochies But don't miss the extreme cold. lol
