2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! Bald spot on chest + Umbilical Hernia? Empty
PostSubject: Bald spot on chest + Umbilical Hernia?   Bald spot on chest + Umbilical Hernia? EmptyTue Apr 03, 2012 12:16 pm

My husky Shiro has been with us for 4 months now. He's thrown off most of his undercoat and revealed his skinny true self to us.

At the same time we find he's been showing a lot of skin on his chest. He's almost bald there now!. This baldness started developing when he started wearing his new harness which he got about the time he started to throw his fur around. During this period he ate little (next to nothing). The harness is a ruff wear webmaster and is padded. Picture of the harness is also included below. The patch at first was similar to the shape of the padded strap of the harness but by now more roundish.

He's been having similar problems with a regular collar, where it would create a bald spot, we bought the harness partly to combat this bald spot (which has been slowly regrowing fur in absence of a collar)

Shiro is 13months. On a diet of raw + farm food kibble and as of today supplements.

another thing we recently discovered on him is this - notice the lump in the center of the picture. It is a little flashy "sack" or bump and my guess is umbilical hernia. any ideas?

Biko, has the Umbilical Hernia, also the vet told me nothing to worry about as more often then not it won't bother him.

Kody has an umbilical hernia. You really can't see it since it's totally covered in fur, but you can feel it. Vet said that it was nothing to worry about.
