| Hey,
In hope I have posted in the right place.
I have a husky puppy although I think my question would be the same for most breeds. Do you agree that as regards dog walking- 5 minutes per month they have been on this planet they can be walked? (So for my puppy- 9 months times 5 minutes = 45 minutes per day)
I have ascertained from certain web sites although it differs a bit-is that a Husky reaches its full height after 10- 12 months although it will still increase in muscle mass(width) between 18 and 24 months.
Thoughts please.
I suppose the burning question is when can i stop following the 5 minute a month rule and walk much longer?!
Thanks for any help |

| I think the 5 minute rule applies to per walk and not to per day, so you could do 3 45min - 1 hr walks a day, but at 9 months I wouldn't worry too much about it, he is a lot less fragile than he used to be - i'll let the more experienced members on here give you their opinion as well, just thought id provide you with a prompt reply in the mean time.
I've also read/been told that they reach their adult heigh at around 10 months and fill out between 18-24 months, however, I do believe that this refers to significant growth and that in that up to 3 years they are growing all the time, even if its not that much outside of those time frames.
edit: In their 3rd year, I think they fill out rather than "grow". |

| By 9 months you should be fine going on longer walks, and in the next couple of months you can start easing into running with your pup as well. We've been running our pup for a couple of months now, and she will be one on Wednesday.
As far as the growth, you guys should be very close to full adult height by now, but there is a potential for one more growth spurt between 15-18 months and then they fill out around 2 years.
