Okay, sorry may seem a bit strange but as I said in my intro post, studying here in the UK at the mo. But my other half is gonna have my adult girl toward the end of the year as I'm going to be getting ready to go to the US in the next year or so and he's already in CA I've only had her since I've been here so I only really know a few US brands. I know Orijen and TOTW are great and I always recomend them. But they are a bit out of my other halfs price range at $50 a bag. I looked at Canadae at $40 for a 30lb bag, but am wondering if there are any good, hypoallergenic bags of food that are any lower in price? If not I think we'll go with Canadae. My girly is very allergic to wheat and it makes her stools very sloppy and makes her misrable. So I don't want to put her on something that is gonna make her sick. She has a hypoallergenic food which i get on discount though my friend.

I know foods like TOTW, Orijen and Blue Buffalo are always recomended and I've heard Canadae recomended before too. Anything else that is reasonable, easy to get hold of and not so highly priced?

Thanks for reading.

I'd suggest that you figure out the brand in your area then refer to these 2 web sites to check on the quality ranking. Then figure for your budget.

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ (good site but seem to be quite some time since there have been any updates)

He could try the Tractor Supply Company's (if there is one somewhere within a reasonable distance of where he is) brand called 4Health. It's not rated as high as Orijen, ToTW, Blue or the others (they're rated 5 stars, 4Health is 4 stars) but 4Health food is about $1/pound.

An 18 pound bag is 18 dollars. etc.

Looks like it would be ok for her but unfortunatly it's too far away from where he lives. 3 hour drive so not possible. At the moment the cheapest food I can seem to find is Canadae for a 30lb bag $40 and I think she'd be fine with those ingrediants but it also means him cold turking the poor girl because we don't have that brand over here.

In my opinion, the 5 dollar difference for taste of the wild is worth it in terms of quality.

Wag is very affordable, you can use a coupon code to get it cheaper, and if you spend 49 you can get free 2 days shipping almost anywhere in the U.S.....just a suggestion

I'm not sure if the wag you guys have over there is the same over here, but it's not hypoallergenic. I'd rather put her on TOTW but my other half seems to want Canadae, I told him that it would be best to put her on something that will be good for her and that we don't have to cold turkey her over. So I think I am slowly bringing him around to the idea. Especially since she'll be with him for at least a year with out me I don't want her getting poorly as he doesn't know as much about dogs as me. But she is his dog not mine hence why she's going to stay with him. I will miss her as she's been with me since she was a pup. I agree TOTW is worth it. I will talk him around.

Edit: Sorry wag is a website, I'm such a twit! lol!! I thought you meant wag the dog food which is worse than pedigree.
