Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

worms...yuck! Empty
PostSubject: worms...yuck!   worms...yuck! EmptyMon Jun 25, 2012 7:44 pm

So Finnick has been with us for a few weeks now...and was inititally checked out by a vet and given heartguard the first week we had him..but never seemed to gain weight no matter how much food he ate.

I took him to a new vet today to get more heartguard and to see if there was something else going on with him and found out he did have worms. Whip and Round worms. ew. He weighed in at 44.3 pounds, but he is so tall and lanky that it just looks like he is completely mal nurished. I can see his ribs and his hip bones are sticking out.
He was wormed and I go back in three weeks for the second round of wormer, but he also gave me Nutri-Cal to give him at home, but has anyone ever used this stuff? I'm supposed to give him one tablespoon a night for 5 nights.

He has been drinking water SO much today...to the point where I had to take up his water bowl...could this be from the wormer? I have been filling the bowl up and giving it to him about once an hour or so to keep it somewhat regulated, but i dont know if i should just let him free drink it or what.

Also my thought to be 6 month old boy is actually over a year old apparently. When asked his age I told him that he should be around 6 months old according to what i was told, but after the vet looked at his teeth he is guessing anywhere between 12-18 months.

This boy sure has been a lot of work these past few weeks, thats for sure! lol

I don't know if wormer makes them drink, Balon would drink all day if I let him, he keeps peeing and peeing, and now its clear, ugh call to vet tomorrow!
