2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

As yall can see roxy is very petite. The previous owners said she was full blooded and her Brother was on site as well but he was an easy 60+ lbs. Do you guys think she is mixed with something else or was she just a runt with little food? When we got her she was 22lbs and skin and bones she now is approaching 30lbs and we Just started her on Blue Buffalo Wilderness dog food and im hoping that will add some weight to her plus she loves it and licks the bowl clean.

How old is she? If she's anywhere under 2 years, she's about normal weight. Breed standard on a female husky is only 45 -55 lbs., whereas a male standard is 55-65lbs. Huskies grow kind of funny. They peak at about 10 months old and level-off until about 15-18 months when they have another huge growth spurt. They'll finish filling out (so they don't look so scrawny) until a full two years. About 6 months ago, Koda was only 45 lbs. Now he's DEFINITELY a full 55 lbs if not slightly more.

Every husky is different. However, if she was malnurished as you say for a good part of her growing years, there's good chance that she's stunted. If she's an adult dog already, she may not make it to breed standard.

¿I take it the first two shots are Stone Mountain? That's some interesting geology out there. ¿Is there a trail to the pinnacle summit on Pilot Mountain?

Oh, and Roxy looks straight Husky to me (I'm no expert though). Around here there's so many sled dogs and I have seen several that look like 2/3 Husky size. Glad she's putting on weight for you. Ridik was full grown and 40 pounds when I got him. Now he's a robust 65 pound mass of muscle.

I have two boys and two girl and all four are different in size and stature. I agree with Koda about the growth spurts.

Hopefully when the cold eases a bit I can take my furrkids up to Stone Mountain. I live twenty mins from it and don't go as much as I should.

Beautiful pics, love the views out there! Roxy looks full husky to me too, she looks like she could stand to gain a bit more but like a lot of people have said they tend to fill out a different ages and it will also depend on muscle mass. We adopted our husky when he was about 2 years old and he was a skinny little guy that weighed 43 lbs, he's over 4 years old now with much more muscle mass and weighs in at 59 lbs. Give her time and I'm sure she'll fill in nicely. Smile
