PostSubject: Meeka has a wart in her mouth!!!!   Meeka has a wart in her mouth!!!! EmptyWed Jul 18, 2012 11:09 am

So the one day I saw that Meeka had this ugly thing in her mouth and I already had an appointment for the vet for her kennel cough vaccine so when I was up there I asked hime about it and he said its pretty common in puppy's and gos away within a couple weeks wich is what I read online about it. My question is has anyone's husky had them before and know any way to get rid of them faster ? I heard L-lysine has helped but not sure if i want to try it

Heather's Rogue had a wart and she used it - made it go away (I think it was only 5 days to make it go away).

I guess I should've clarified.....after a week, she used L-lysine to help it along which then took about 4-5 days to clear it up.

L-lysine is an amino acid relatively harmless, if you want to speed the healing go ahead and use it. The pup couldn't eat enough of it to make her sick.

People often use it to speed the healing of cold sores.

Cally had quite a few in her mouth (about 7 ranging from big and small) and a fairly large one on her chin. I also went to the vet and they said that the best thing to do for it is to let it go away on it's own. The reason for this is that your dog has probably not built up an immune system to it yet. The vet popped a couple to get the infection into her system so that she could build up an immunity to it. It's been about a month and we are finally in the clear of the warts (Oral Papilloma).

I used it and it worked great. It was way smaller in even two days. I also used thuja extract and put that on the wart once a day and I gave Ro two L-Lysines a day, 12 hours apart.

It is due to a weak immune system and that's why the Lysines works. It enhances the immune system. I had the thuja extract applied for 2 weeks and did the Lysine for around 2.5, it was pretty much gone about a week in to the Lysine, stayed about as bit as a grain of rice for an additional week. I've heard of it naturally taking up to 2-3 months or longer.

Kai was just diagnosed with puppy warts on Thursday. We received a call from daycare that she had them so they had to separate her. She only has one and the vet said that it's a really small one compared to others.

How long did it take for the warts to go away for everyone who has experienced this? Kai is upset because she wants to play with every dog she sees or go back to daycare but unfortunately we can't let because it's highly contagious.
